Just has to hang on any teams practice squad. Lots of stories of players bouncing around on practice squads and then taking advantage when they get an opportunity. Just keep working and get paid a decent salary as you do it. I think with a 17 game schedule and the amount of injuries that come with that he stills has a legitimate shot.

Marcus Sherels was a little used DB and fulltime KR/PR early in his career but in his last 3-4 years was solely a returner for the Vikings.

Colt Anderson himself spent a year or more on the Vikings practice squad before the Eagles picked him up, so I am hoping SF picks up Junior for their PS, and I gotta believe Colt is lobbying for Junior !!!

He will still get his shot. He will end up on Raiders or some other teams practice squad.
Raiders’ practice squad is highly likely. They love his potential, just can’t afford to use a roster spot on him at this stage of his development.
I can’t see Bergen sticking in the NFL. He just doesn’t have the size and athleticism. Having value as a returner only is a tall order when it comes to making a roster.
Griz fans won’t like to hear it, but Tommy is off the charts athletically compared to Junior. Makes investing in his potential a lot more appealing for teams.
I’d say it’s more than possible since they used a draft pick on him and teams don’t like to admit immediate mistakes.
And while he’s probably a better athlete than Junior, he’s also trying to make an nfl roster playing a position he’s never played. Clearly at this point in their careers, Junior is both the better WR and the better returner.

Tommy in the NFL is a concussion waiting to happen. I would advise him to hang up the cleats.

CFL would be a better fit for Junior with its wide-open style of play, pass first offense and larger field.
I agree with a lot of what you say. Tommy also can cover kickoffs and punts (and personal protector). I listen to a lot of NFL Radio on Sirius and Pat Kirwin who was a old NFL Coach/Scout/Exec said something that nailed this whole process. He said each year there are 250 rookies that take 250 veterans spots. And the majority of NFL players never get the huge contracts. But if they play 2 or 3 years they make enough to maybe buy a house and have some money in the bank as they start their new career. Which isn't playing football.
Those numbers seem a little high for active 53 man rosters... 257 players were drafted this year, add in all the UFA's and you have about 450 rookies in camps. The average NFL team signs about 6 rookies to NFL rosters per year meaning you have about 190ish rookies. Add in the practice squad signees and then the number reaches around the 250 number... still a lot of churn which I guess why the average length of an NFL career is only 3.5 years. I hope most can earn enough for a house and a little walking around money...I guess it depends on where the house is...
