Junior...

I'm starting to wonder if the Niners are looking at the WRs who are being released, talking themselves into keeping Junior as the returner, and getting a FA WR who is better than Skyy Moore.

I still expect Junior to be waived, though.
 
Not surprised but disappointed. I think the trade for Sky Moore sealed his fate even before the muffed catch. It would have taken a spectacular return against the chargers for him to make the team. I hope he moves on from football and starts his next chapter.

Why do you hope he moves on from football? He could be signed to the 49ers practice squad and be called up for injuries or signed to the active roster of another team.

We'll know tomorrow if he doesn't get picked up off waivers by another team.

Will he make the 49ers PS? It's complicated.

Skyy Moore is the returner right now, but with Jacob Cowing and Jordan Watkins being injured, they might feel they need someone on the PS just in case something happens to Moore. If Watkins is healthy enough to be the backup, they may feel like they don't need him.

You should be judging him mainly on those skills. Why bring up the receiver stuff? Even you seem to know that isn’t going to be the basis of his making the team. So was I being negative or realistic?

Bergen should make the practice squad, hopefully get a little bigger and faster and make the 53 next year. Still a chance of getting called up to the active roster if he makes the practice squad too.

I’d like to believe that they have some vested interest in keeping him around since they spent a draft pick on him.
