Junior...

I wonder if Tommy Mellot will try the CFL or hang it up? The financial engineering degree can probably pay more than the CFL.
And it's not too late for TM to become a GRIZ--he can always enroll and earn his MBA from UM's outstanding College of Business ( not offered at Shi__y Kitty U ) !!!

Those numbers seem a little high for active 53 man rosters... 257 players were drafted this year, add in all the UFA's and you have about 450 rookies in camps. The average NFL team signs about 6 rookies to NFL rosters per year meaning you have about 190ish rookies. Add in the practice squad signees and then the number reaches around the 250 number... still a lot of churn which I guess why the average length of an NFL career is only 3.5 years. I hope most can earn enough for a house and a little walking around money...I guess it depends on where the house is...
Raiders had 9 rookies make roster, Tommy and Cam didn't. I think Niners also kept 9. Kirwins stats were his stats which I think that might be over time. But if there are 200 that make it then 200 are out of jobs. The 3.3 average is a very broad average. Much depends on position played and if you actually make a roster. Yea it is a good start for a kid if they make roster or even make practice squad but they ain't retiring on it. Hopefully they get vested and their body isn't beat to hell.

Agree, vesting is the key which I believe requires them to be on the roster 3 or more games per year for at least 3 years. I don't believe the practice squad counts towards vesting however...

Good recommendation. That degree will be helpful for his Trash business. Maybe he could play WR or not.

Good salary for Bergen and chance to still be called up to active roster this season. Gets to travel with team, practice and do most (all) stuff regular players get to do.

I think Junior had a great camp and someone in the 49ers organization thought Skyy Moore was a great get. Hands of stone Moore is going to have a very short time as a returner. Junior will get elevated.
