I never put too much stock in "expert" testimony. In my opinion "experts" are basically people with lots of letters after their name who will say whatever you want them to say if you pay them enough money.

Should have said he was an educational witness who didn't know anything about this case. Oh wait, that was the prosecution's expert.

Yep....expert witnesses on both sides essentially cancel each other out. The only thing that's really accomplished is padding the bank accounts of these experts for hire.

I just realized... isn't it ironic that our taxpayer's money is going towards paying for this trial & prosecution... but we can't support JJ financially in any way because it is against NCAA rules?

Having worked as an expert witness for several years I can tell you that this assumption may be true in some instances but is not the norm. An expert who gets branded as either a prosecution witness or a defense witness often find themselves looking for a new career because their testimony is always suspect. That doesn't mean they won't get hired, but they are categorized and it minimizes their effectiveness.

I have been hired as an expert from both sides. More to the point I have been told by several counsel that my services aren't needed because after I have reviewed the case at hand, I could not support the counsel's view of the case. The vast majority of attorney's will try to find as impartial an expert as they can, because it leads to a less impeachable testimony.

I'm not saying this happened in this case, but as a general rule this is what happens.

IMO it is pointless to call an old coach/friend/teacher of JJ. As a jury member it wouldn't sway my opinion if someone said he is/was a good person. I guarantee you can find someone that thinks JJ isn't a good person.
