This is really sad. Two young lives have been turned upside down. Jane-doe and Jordan knew each other and must of really liked each other or they wouldn't have been together. Only two people were there when this act happened. Only the two of them know what happened. I can only think, this whole thing could have been avoided. It's just sad. So young and for both of them to be dealing with this crap. WOW........
 
I had heard this months ago but I was starting to doubt that he would be charged, I am surprised it took this long. I wonder if everyone who was saying this was a witch hunt will still say that after reading that affidavit.
 
Just went through the charging documents and it makes me sick to read. Much like the alleged actions of the UM against the anonymous student, the allegations made against him are shocking. And while I don't know him personally the suggestion that someone would do something like this really upsets me.

As Grizlaw said, I hope for a fair trial and I hope for the best for the victim in this case. Football certainly does seem so far away here. There are multiple people who will obviously be affected for this for a lifetime. I would assume that once this goes to trial both sides will come out, I'm trying to withold judgement until then - but its sure tough to do.
 
I am tired of reading both side of this, and wish a civil outcome for this, and wish everyone the best of luck getting through this, and rest of their lives.

If there is something positive to be taken from this, take time to point out to your kids, or kids you care about, what the consequences can be with bad decision making regarding sex. This is a nightmare for both parties, and both families. I have already talked about this with a 16 year old kid I know. He already told me, it has him thinking entirely different about decisions, with girls. He will be following the case all the way through.

Sorry guys this blows. And if true JJ deserves everything coming his way. Keep in mind that the charging documents hold one side of the story and my only recommendation is that everyone puts this case to the side and let the court decide.
Situations like this should make all of us realize that college football isn't as big as we tend to make it out to be.

Will be interesting to see how the media covers this case and at what levels it will be covered. Besides the obvious fact that this is very sad and unfortunate for the accused and the victim, this will also bring even more scrutiny and negative publicity to the University and the football program (deserved or not).

In that Duke Lacrosse thing years back, were there charges filed and then they were dropped before trial?? Just curious, she sounded pretty convincing too. If her story is what really happened, then I don't want to root for JJ. And I know we have plenty capable quarterbacks that can lead the mighty Griz rushing attack.
I cant wait til we can put this story behind us!!
 
WOW, sounds like JJ's legal team has a huge challenge. Reading that is very disturbing, and if you are a parent of a young girl, you have to worry about this happening, and praying it never does.

Based on the court documents, I have a few questions that make me ? the extent of the charges.

(1) If your roommates are there, and you are scared, why not scream, or get their attention? It would help prevent more happening, and would have much better witnesses.

(2) After something like that, why on God's earth would any woman want to spend more time alone, with the accused?

I think the truth is somewhere between Her side, and JJ's side. I hope this girl has a clean reputation. God knows how much dirt will be dug to find skeletons. Even if found innocent, or reduced charges, this is damning for both parties, rest of their lives. Is the middle ground that of a jilted lover, and JJ being a pompous ass after using a woman for SEX? Granted, being looked as a pompous ass, is not a good label, but an outcome much better than being a rapist.

I pray to GOD, both legal teams will find the middle ground in this, and both parties move on with their lives the best they can.
 
After reading that Affidavit which I did not do before my previous post, looks like there was evidence of rape, if the PD had went to her place to find the semen on the blanket I think JJ would already be locked up and should be. So who will be the starting QB next year?

In the terms of your two points;

1. The affadavit states she "shut down" during the act in fear of further harm.

2. We've seen/read that her action of driving him home is consistent with other rape victims.

So considering that info it falls in line with other cases and outcomes.
