He only wants to play for the Griz. Leaning toward hanging it up now.

That is too bad! I do hate the way Bobby handled this situation.
He didn't want to play for the Griz this year. How should BH have handled it?

He should have convinced him to play this year. They both should have avoided getting into it.

I assume Calhoun wanted to redshirt, so that he can play a full year and contribute bigger next year. Can't see how he would have been wanting to redshirt for any other reason.

The coaches could have played Calhoun more and sooner this season, and then redshirting wouldn't have been necessary or possible.

In retrospect, Calhoun should have used the concussion excuse. Concerned about his health.

I feel bad for Calhoun, and the team. This team is less strong without Calhoun.

Good post, PR! Nobody won that day.

Well this certainly seemed to depress the team, as evidenced by their demeanor in Moscow Saturday and their swarming the HC after the game. I hope we are still down like that this week.

Well, he didn't say anything about it depressing the team, as evidenced by the words in his post.
If, however, you think this team isn't less strong without Calhoun, then I'm afraid we've lost you.

What more needs discussed here? He is absolutely done being a GRIZ!

How about we show some unprecedented class and don't go into character assasination mode on the kid?

Once a Griz, alw . . . never mind.

I didn't assassinate him. I actually liked how hard he played. I feel for him getting injured. I'm just saying a fact, his playing days are finished. Unfortunately, sooner than we hoped. I am not calling him any names. Not blaming him, or Bobby. If you take that as assassination, I am sorry. It is not intended that way. Seriously, is it better to go on having people say and believe, he is going to be back, when he is not? I said absolutely nothing offensive or wrong.

My bad, you used my post to point it out. If by chance, my post is part of that. I am sorry.

Absolutely not. You don't bash the players, rule. :thumb:

The question is not whether it depressed the team. The question is whether the Griz running game, and thus the Griz, are better with Calhoun, or without him, or the same? I say they are better with him. That's all.

I didn't and don't expect the team to be so bummed out that Calhoun is gone, that their game falls apart.

Jensen has been gone for the whole season, and we still talk about him. Dickenson has been gone for over 2 decades and we still talk about him. Seems like we can talk about Calhoun for a week. This is the internet after all.

Nope, when a starting running back abruptly leaves the team, you only get two days to discuss it. Even if there are unanswered questions, you get two days. After that, you can't discuss it, and don't even think about suggesting it might be a net negative for the team. Because his days of being a Griz are over, and Bobby must've handled it absolutely perfectly. It is known.

Then how can thread get to 17 pages? It can't be both ways.

Eastwood is a better back, runs harder, more durable and doesn't seem to quit on his teammates. I always liked that when my teammates fought on instead of quitting when things got hard.

No matter how you slice this it's gonna hurt the team. I wish they would have let him redshirt. Don't quite understand why they didnt. Calhoun is a far better running back than Eastwood. Watch Eastwood 1st and 2nd steps compared to Jeremy. Not even close. Jeremy cuts better and is just as powerful. I miss the days of a running back that could cut on a dime. Eastwood is not that guy. My 2 cents.

Is it possible to get an extension from the head office to be able to talk about something for, say, three additional days? Because I want to discuss Growler.
