If I were NDSU...

I didn't read threw all the above posts, but will add my opinion anyway. If the Griz can play like the did against EWU in the 4th quarter of that game, they will win. It's the same approach EWU uses on offense for the most part. Pass first and then use the pass to set up the run. The Griz, IMO, nor can any FCS team try and pound it out with NDSU. Score fast and often and put there offense on their heels. The Griz have a good enough defense to control NDSU when they are behind. I know the Griz love to pound the rock, but with JJ and his scrambling and big play ability (AKA--Vernon Adams), use him to the best of his abilities. NDSU will never see it coming.
This....

But delaney will not try that. He will try and out tough them with the run, and it will not work.

The one game where we came out of the gate throwing instead of running was @ NoDak. Maybe being back in that fine state will inspire Mick to try it again...

TWO CULTURES

If you read the post on both boards you see the difference in the cultures.

Montana is the gold standard for sustained excellence academically, athletically, and its fan base.

There are seven deadly sins, six of them (pride, greed, lust, anger, sloth, and gluttony) have some short term relief. All seven deadly sins are a downhill spiral and without intervention lead to serious personal consequences.

The one not mentioned is envy, it provides no short term relief.

The supporters of the outfit in Fargo suffer from envy of Montana even if they do not recognize it.

Envy has three stages

1. Restlessness – it is when something or someone else is or has and you don’t; it leaves you empty.

2. Resentfulness – you are not satisfied and begin to say or think things about what you are not; knowing you are not or cannot be what you envy begins the downhill spiral in slow subtle unrecognizable ways.

3. Vindictiveness – You see it posted on their board, in any number of ways in their over the top comments about anyone who is not one of them. It is a sick culture that as an outsider you just sit there and be thankful it is not who you are.

What we can do as Montana is recognize them for what they are and if needed respond appropriately.

Thing I dont like is at the beginning of next year N dakota st will have the revenge factor going for them when we play

kevraid, I just wanted you to know that I appreciated this gem. It did not go unnoticed.

I saw it. Nobody responded because it is likely not to play out that way.

Laugh my ass of when people try saying there have been many games over the past four years the Bison should have lost. At a certain point after a team goes 39-2 you say when a team gets down against NDSU and it is in the 4th quarter, the opposing team will not win because IT HAS NOT HAPPENED.

2 games NDSU has lost.

17-14 ISU...Jensen threw 2 pick 6's and a third on potential game tying/winning drive.
27-24 YSU...Ojuri fumbles and YSU took the lead

I have never seen this NDSU have their defense dominated or run game shut down. There has been 2 teams to win against NDSU but it took critical turnovers to do so

Your team is good. Very good. But the line between "very good" and "above average" is thin at best--and it's usually crossed when those pesky turnovers rear their ugly heads. During the three year 39-2 streak you continually reference there are a number of games that were extremely close and could have gone either way (9-3, 27-19, 23-17, 21-17, 20-17, 14-7, 23-20, 24-23)....I see NDSU as a team in the same place the Griz were at a few years ago...we ALWAYS seemed to win, and in the close ones we (as fans) just KNEW we'd pull it out in the end. Consecutive seasons of 12-2, 11-1, 14-2, 14-1...51-6 over four years. My recommendation to you: enjoy the ride, but don't be a dick. All good things must come to an end. ;)

So what yer saying is since N dakota st has been eligible for the playoffs they have never finished a season undefeated

One time I remember the Grizz barely beating a shitty USD team, who despite being shitty, took the ball and ran it down your throats. Then I remember NDSU playing that exact same team and it being 35-0 with 14 minutes to go in the third.

Respect the hell out of the Grizz. Love your fans passion and support. Your stadium is the best in the FCS and you have an awesome tradition, but frankly that means jack squat right now. If this matchup happens you are playing in Fargo in an environment that is every bit if not more difficult to play in than Washington Grizzly. You are playing against the best defense in the FCS. The best coach in the FCS. The most winningest QB in FCS history, 2 1,000 yard running backs, and a team who is more physical, more athletic, and better disciplined than the Grizz. If NDSU implodes and has turnovers, Montana can easily win. If not, I am sorry but you are not going to win. Period.

You must be joking....NDSU is rarely more athletic than any of the teams they play...what you do have is an amazing coaching staff that puts players in the right position to make the play...and great schemes to hid your lack of athleticism...Lets be honest here....Both your backs are very good, but theyre not the most athletic in the nation..or anything like that...Canada and Van win that everytime...Youll also be hard pressed to find a more athletic LB core and WR core than we have......again..your coaches are great schemers...but throwing out false statements like this is just ridiculous.

NDSU fan needs to remember that this is all cyclical. No one could have forseen a time say back in 1993 when Youngstown wasn't in the palyoffs and contending every year. I remember a certain 25 game win streak ending in Cheney one year, and who would have thought that App State or Georgia Southern wouldn't be in the chipper every year. Ride the wave while you can NDSU fan guy. Your turn to be average will come soon enough. Of course, we don't sit on an enourmous oil patch like you do, so maybe your funding won't dry up so you can keep up the arms race that is collegiate athletics a bit longer than some. Be nice to as many fanbases as you can because one of them will be beating you down someday.

Oh and I think most teams would also disagree with your statement about the Fargo dome being tougher or more intimidating to play in...WAGRIZ with a blizzard..17 degrees and a deafening crowd of 26 thousand right ontop of you..much more intimidating than playing in a dome at 70 degrees and 19 thousand ...just saying..your a dumb ass

Are you and PlayerRep related? Because you're starting to sound like an arrogant assh0le too.

Somewhat off topic, but I am going to wager a guess that this game will bring AG1 out of
e-griz hibernation.

After all, it’s not every day that his favorite team gets to play the Griz.

Was that the same game that NDSU was up 42-0 in the 4th quarter and NDSU was still passing the ball? good thing Joe Glenn has mellowed or we would have had another photo of him flipping the bird. #stayclassybohl

Been to WG 3 times. Fargodome is much louder. Has hit 130 decibals in there. Inclement weather is an advantage to neither team, unless one team is from the south.

Which is often the case in the playoffs..teams from the south or east coast... and I'm curious why no coaches ever mention the Fargodome when talking about the loudest places they've ever experienced..while you can find numerous quotes of coaches comparing WAGRIZ to Autzen or LSU Tiger stadium...again..your talking out your ass.

It's interesting. NDSU has nothing to prove. "bison" apparently does. Oh well.
If this game happens, watch out...they'll be a ton of them over here looking for Griz fans to bow before them. Worst fanbase in college football...

You know I would just laugh if both teams lost their first playoff games...the hubris on display by both fanbases is astounding. Course it would really stink but well there it is. Nice.post earlier by boys mom, well done and I totally agree! :thumb:
