It's interesting watching this unfold...
I'm certain if someone dug up the end of season posts form 2016 or beginning of the season this year, how many said "if Stitt can go 7-4 next year he should get another year", and where they are posting now. Does the season suck overall...yes. But there is a chance to go 8-3 or 7-4. My opinion is 7-4 he gets 1 more year, but would be required to make some changes. 6-5, well then obviously that's not going to work.
The Griz have lost their senior starting QB, that honestly, was something special this year. There is no denying what that kid was in the process of doing. GJ is going to be something special, but at any level it's tough for a freshman to understand the game, then come in and see the speed of the game.
Defensively, it's a zoo. Lost a key DT, starting safety, and lack depth at certain positions. I think the coaching has improved, although really only 1 game to look at stats in that regard. Special teams...I'm seriously thinking about calling BH and asking to spend time with him to learn some special teams...and then applying for the job. Holy crap man. I bet northern would run better kick returns than the Griz against the same opponents.
I am a Stitt supporter for 1 more season only...as long as they do not end up 6-5. I think he needs to make important coaching changes in the off season, including getting Andy Thompson here as DC if he doesn't get the HC job at NAU. Let's support these guys through this. Griz Nation is amazing and they feed of the fans. GO GRIZ!
