So it was out of her control, thats what you think? She lied to the first step nurse. This has always been in her control, she could stand up right now and say "your honor i wasnt raped".....and you yourself even said you dont believe this is a rape. She has had the control during this entire mess. Its just hard to listen to you say blah blah blah about JJ and how big of a dirt bag he is when you actually believe this girl is lying about a rape that has totally changed peoples lives for worse. Remember what you said about JJ not having the balls to tell this girl he wasnt into her? You said something along those lines, correct? Well she had the power to end all this, but didnt have the guts to stand up and say she was not raped (your words, you dont believe she was raped)
How can you sit and call a man a dirt bag for playing a girl yet sympathize with a girl for saying she was raped when she was not? Lying about rape is without a doubt the worse of these two awful acts.
If I remember correctly, the First Step nurse prompted her to file a police report. She said something about telling the girl there were other victims so the alleged victim would be doing it for them. That was a lot of tweets ago, but maybe someone can find it and confirm.
The way I read it the nurse could tell the girl was on the fence and was convinced by the nurse that making a police report based off an exam that didn't really prove rape was somehow a noble thing.
That's when I believe it snowballed. Like Grisly Fan said, it was the perfect storm...First Step Nurse, the SARC counselor, Detective, Asst. Dean, all rallied behind her. Then O'Day, Pflu, and all the national media that followed.
The testimony today by the dean of students was telling on this point too. Her asking about the other victims that apparently didn't exist put the girl into tears. I think the girl knew she had been manipulated by the First Step Nurse.
Which could easily explain her anxiety. If she was emotional or showing signs of PTSD, all of it could have been explained by the stress she was under as a result of knowing that the basis of her story was untrue.
There is also the possibility of her identity being leaked. I'm not sure what the law is if Johnson is found not guilty, but if and when that happens all of her dirty laundry, all of the stuff that wasn't admitted during the trial, it will all be aired on twitter, Facebook, eGriz and probably some national media outlets -- Good Morning America was in the court room today.
Does that make her actions okay? No. Not at all. I don't condone or excuse her making a false accusation.
I can at least understand her motivations, but I can't understand Johnson's. As far as I can tell she was good to him. She liked him. He knew it. And he used that to his own advantage; be that free rides or sex.
I think Putter nailed it, she thought it was something far more than just sex.
I know he helped those kids in Mexico and all, but his testimony today doesn't change my original opinion.
- He knew he didn't want a relationship with the girl the night of the ball (Just a friend)
- He initiated the texting with the girl on day after the ball
- He made arrangements for her to pick him up that night (Why not Kelly?)
- He went there knowing sex was a possibility (Why no condom? What about Kelly?)
- He takes of his shoes, watch, gets on her bed and then spoons with her for 20 minutes (Just friends?)
- He gives her the business, doesn't wear a condom, and doesn't even make sure she finished
- He blows his load on her blanket and then stops talking to her and no longer goes near her physically
- He decided to not tell the girl he likes that he had sex with the other girl
- He cuts off all communication doesn't even ask for his watch back
- He deletes all his messages from his phone to hide it from the girl he actually likes
- He is not honest with the girl he likes until the night before the story went public
I hate to keep saying it, but his actions are the actions of a dirt bag. And you know what? I think he would agree with me.
He was ashamed of himself in the court room, especially when his dad was on the stand. His dad appears to be a truly honorable man. I think that's why Jordan had his face covered and was crying through most of his father's testimony.
He was ashamed because he knows he was a dirt bag.
No matter what, I hope all parties affected by this make it through okay. This is especially true for the families of the to two people at the center of this story.
