Proven to have gotten him through school.

Nope, no chance of any bad record causing him not to get a chance to sign a good renewal. Who's to say UM isn't trying to get him to sign a contract now?

If you want to know what's going on, you should listen to me.
This from the guy who all but guarenteed a new contract last spring. You are a voice but not one worth listening to.
hubcap said:mthoopsfan said:Haha. He wouldn't be on hot seat at 6-5. You need to learn more about Griz football and what the "important" people think about Hauck. Your posts look like jokes.
Who the hell are these "important" people who would be ok with 6-5? Let's hear some names because if 6-5 is the barometer now, this fan base is pathetic! You make the Cat fans argument for them. Can you not see that?? Seriously though, you could pull about any NAIA coach up and take this team to 6-5. Sheesh

The pool is probably larger than most estimate. The problem isn’t going to be finding someone with youth and the right experience. It will be keeping them for any length of time. Success = better opportunities and more money. College football is all about the money. You can hate on BH all you want. I don’t think he is going anywhere. This year should be a good one for the Griz. Watching body language, it is quite apparent that everyone from Hauck down knows that this is a year where they better perform. Schedule is favorable and there is no reason they won’t have a stellar year. It just drives me nuts the Griz are in another fall camp with a QB competition. A legitimate - who the hell is the starter competition.

I want to preface this post with saying I hope he does not retire or get fired or if he does retire that he retires after a national championship run. I also want that it’s a slow week of work for me. But if we are going down this rabbit hole, I think anyone across college athletics would say that Montana is still an incredible job. And with the current roster, I don’t think it’s unrealistic to say that it would be one that a guy could SEE themselves coming in and exceeding INITIAL expectation.
I don’t think it would attract many P5 coordinators, but for sure I think P5 position coaches. Those guys are realistically looking for a solid FCS head job, G5 coordinator job, or getting promoted at their current spot. So to that point if you look at position coaches across the western part of the country, I don’t think that’s unrealistic. The next demographic would be a G5 coordinator. Hate to say it but a good decision for Vigen. Most likely mountain west coordinators obviously. I don’t see us taking a serious look at an an FCS coordinator. I can’t think of one guy off the top of my head with the SDSU guy getting promoted. Maybe see how NDSU does this fall?
Lastly there is no D2 head man in the country that would turn this job down, although I don’t think there is any D2 coach that UM would look at.
I mean you look at the 35 under 35 list you’re going to find some pac 12/G5 guys that would jump at the opportunity (not that we would necessarily be interested). Jerry Neuheisel, Drew Hollingshead, Doug Deakin, CJ Cox is just a few guys. Quality candidates with regional ties, again, not that we would want them but a list of names that would be attracted to Montana.
Disclaimer, this post is a what if scenario and doesn’t mean I have any qualms with the current coaching staff and have high expectations for the Grizzlies this year.
mthoopsfan said:AZGrizFan said:Well they SHOULD start out 5-0 like last year...you think they go 2-4 or 3-3 down the stretch? If that happens again I think you're right...that doesn't bode well for BH.
@UC-Davis
@Idaho
Sac State
Bozeman State.
He HAS to go 2-2 in these four games, IMHO. Every other game they should win. IMO, anything worse than 9-2 and his seat should be very hot.
Haha. He wouldn't be on hot seat at 6-5. You need to learn more about Griz football and what the "important" people think about Hauck. Your posts look like jokes.

If they go 6-5, miss the playoffs, with this schedule, how is that not a blow against what Hauck is trying to build?
Last year was a competition in my mind. Yes, a real one. You had a very proven QB coming in. He still had to learn the playbook and gel with the offensive players. Brown had time in the system and knew the players. He struggled, but again had to step in due to injury. This year we have another competition. Sorry, it drives me nuts because a program like Bozeman has the advantage with a multi year QB. He knows the system inside and out and has the confidence of the team. The more years a good QB has in a system - the better. Grizzlies are again starting from square one and it seems to be the case most years. Covid threw a lot out of whack and the injury bug has been brutal for the Griz. Hopefully they find a multi year starter in 2023.mthoopsfan said:Copper Griz said:The pool is probably larger than most estimate. When did the Griz last have a qb competition? I don't recall any competitions, or real ones, under Hauck. What the Griz have for the first time, is a fall with only unproven qb's plus Brown.

In chronological order. Some are. Sponsor of NEZ expansion. Sponsor of new scoreboard. Sponsor of hall of fame area. Person who flew Bobby to Missoula for first job acceptance and significant ongoing donor while Bobby was coach, and guy asked to donate $7 million for performance center. I know academic center donor, and assume he is a Bobby guy, but haven’t asked him. I will. I assume Brock Coyle. Don’t know about Washington. Don’t know about family who sponsored some of east side expansion. Assume Edwards family but haven’t asked. Dave Paoli, a good donor and nil supporter. He would rip the head off of anyone who opposed Bobby. I know Bodnar pretty well and believe he’s a big supporter.
Which big donors and supporters do you know who don’t support Bobby?

Don't shit on any athlete that is on scholarship, especially football players. If the hours he has spent on football and training were spent washing dishes in a chinese restaurant for minimum wage he'd be money ahead.3-7-77 said:goatcreekgriz said:Brown defines “unproven quarterback”
Proven to have gotten him through school.

The contract is on his desk. He doesn’t want to sign it. Has too many other options. Paying triple the money. You don’t have a clue.

I have to asssume this is sarcasm. I just have to because if not you should be seeking some help.. But then again it is from the man who claimed last spring that Hauck could be the special teams coordinator for any NFL team and claimed he had multiple high paying coaching offers from other schools. When asked to prove it you could only reference a claim (yours) that he was offered the SDSU head coaching gig 7 years ago and turned it down, but of course couldn't prove that either. So again, if this wasn't sarcasm, show us those triple money options.
7 and 4, a loss to the Cats in Missoula, and no playoffs because of Ferris State won't cut it for many influential people. It might for you but you don't really fall into the influential catagory.
