So you think all is well in Grizville according to Kent? You think he sees no need to deal with 5 years of continued oline issues and QB issues? You don't think Kent cringes when Bobby acts like an ass to the media ( which was a major red flag by many when he got hired back that Kent was made well aware it but some boosters claimed Bobby had supposedly matured since the first time around and wouldn't treat the press the way he had so now knows he was fooled? You don't think Kent was sick of the emails about the #37 debacle, all brought on by one person and allowed to fester for weeks? You don't think he is sick of the emails about how Bobby handled the Crews situation by local people that know the true story? You don't think he reads, or hears the dissatisfaction on social media that has exploded teh last 3 weeks?

This year for many reasons it is not looking like it will end the way it was predicted (remember rose colored Griz fans thought this was the championship year, and apparently nation wide the idea was not out of sight)....and now we have 5 years and the promised RTD has not happened. Looking at about finishing around 5th place in the conference if things go well here on out....if they lose to the Cats and have 4 conference losses with one of them to MSU the masses will freak. The last time he witnessed that many pissed off fans was with a Stitt team with about the same record (but actually better in conference) , and after a Cat loss.....Stitt was fired. Do I think Bobby should be fired after a possible Cat loss if it happens NO, but if he doesn't make changes there will be a lot of Griz nation that will want that outcome. And Kent knows he is stuck with Bobby regardless how season ends, or what changes he does or doesn't make, he hired him and he has no control over him.

Of course he knows there are issues and that he effectively has no control over Bobby. Management 101....Any "boss" that isn't higher in the food chain than their subordinates is in big trouble management wise. Leaders need to lead, not follow or they are no longer the leader. Not a place I would want to work when things are not going great....especially when the biggest competitor (MSU) is gaining steam in so many ways. Pretty common that an AD's longevity / approval rating is based on his football hires. He sure isn't getting daily emails about the tennis coach, or their losing streak etc. Money talks, and there are a lot of donors that are starting to hold on to their checkbooks a little tighter already due to many of these issues and not as willing to spend money if there isn't a product the are happy with.....If AD's don't raise enough money they are in big trouble. Check out survival rate of AD;s when football programs underachieve in eyes of fans, it isn't favorable even though they never call a play, or recruit a player. That is why Bobby had to get rid of assistants at UNLV, the AD pushed to save his own neck, the difference here is Kent is a neutered puppy and he knows that.

I guess we will know more after about 3 weeks how this will all go into the offseason and how great of a job Kent thinks he has. My guess is he will leave if he gets a chance and would be smart to do so and maybe will learn next time to hire who he wants not necessarily who the power boosters push him to if he has reservations. He made his bed, now knows he has to sleep in it...or he can move and get a new bed.

Almost everything. Bobby Hauck is a great coach, a great person, a great leader and mentor to student athletes. Several of them are some of my good friends. Kent knows this and believes in him even though these are rough times.

Comments on DeCuire are hilariously inaccurate. Most (if not all) of those players were told to leave. They didn’t fit the brand of basketball we play here at all.

Yes, any "teammate" who records team meetings and discloses the recordings to the public deserves to be run off the team. I can see why the other players helped run him off. This guy obviously doesn't know the meaning of teammate. Maybe he should try this stunt with the mafia, and see what his disloyalty gets him. This will follow him in life. I was charge of hiring for many decades. I wouldn't even a person like this.

It’s pretty obvious the bad breaks this team has got up to this point in the season. I’m just as mad as everyone about our OC not being able to call a game for our backup QB. Two games we should have won. But I’m guessing if we can have a healthy LJ for the rest of the season people will be happy with the run this team goes on.

The USU problems extend as far back as 2015 at least and extends beyond the football program. There is a sense is that whomever USU hires as AD might have to clean house rather than maintain status quo. They have had several PR issues, dysfunction w/in the football program as noted, and a bevy of issues related to booster influences and access. Not too dissimilar to what Haslam had to deal with when he took over for O'Day.

That being said, I don't think the USU is a sideways move. Outside of maybe SDSU, there isn't likely a better school/community scenario than what they have in Logan in the MWC. The have excellent community and college support despite the proximity to larger big brothers in BYU and UU. If Haslam were a candidate, this is the type of job that he could run with and succeed at. Very similar environment to Missoula in regards to support of the programs. This isn't San Jose State for sure.

Despite perceptions otherwise, most of the time when you are an AD you are dealing with Alpha head coaching types that are forces of nature that take some understanding on how to deftly navigate those relationships. That is true of Bobby and Travis. That department is vastly less deferential to the football program than it was Bobby's first time around and a lot of that is the lessons learned and Kent's leadership. Not perfect for sure, but Kent shouldn't be seen as a puppet. Just my two cents.

He took a chance on a guy who thought outside the box, it did not work but many thought things were pretty good after his First game as a Griz Head Football Coach!

Depends on the state. Some states, including Utah (I believe) are one-party states, meaning you can record if you're part of the conversation. Other states, including Montana, are all-party states, meaning you have to have all parties consent to the recording. As always, exceptions abound.

There are many sports teams at UM besides football and bball. I like the way the Womens' basketball team is beginning to assert itself after years of playing a plodding boring style that seemed just fine for so many but not very sucessful. Likewise the soccer and soft ball teams and all the rest. For a very small school budget wise with much smaller enrollments than before, Haslam is able to pull rabbits from hats. He would be hard to replace, I think, though he has made the athletic programs stronger, over all.
