Expectations

The expectations were not only Griz fans. Were they not picked as pre-season #1 by coaches and media? Sac was 2-9 the season before Taylor. He arrives and they have not lost a conference game. Hell, Eck arrives in Moscow and almost makes the playoffs with Petrino’s players.

Well, Bobby made the playoffs with Stitt recruits...let that sink in.

True but Stitt went 8-5, 6-5, 7-4 and his O-Lines were marginal. Looks like we maybe in the same place. Bobby is 6-5, 10-4, 10-3, 7-4.

Allow me to retort. Hauck has an abysmal record against the Bobcats. Our line play has been mediocre to putrid every year since he came back. Player morale seems shitty. Our playoff record has been pedestrian. We are now a bubble team, probably not deserving of getting in. It’s the same damn thing every year - the OC who calls a pass play with 1st and goal on the 1 foot line, followed by a RPO. What is Ostmo for, the dive on 3rd and 8? Our staff reminds me of the Oakland scout staff in Moneyball.
But wait, they could recognize that Britt in the 3rd string QB....

Yeah, actual results are a tough thing for many Griz fans living in the past to accept. Time to get past 2009 and realize that the landscape of college football, BSC football, has caught up, and in some instances, has passed UM over the last 14 years.

If anyone is living in the past it appears to be you with your support of how Bobby has done this go around. Expectations for this year were based off of this year's players, preseason rankings, and early season success and then the staff took that and shat it down both legs with their scheme, not utilizing personnel appropriately, etc. I don't think we are any better of a team right now under Bobby then we may have been under Stitt five years later but, who knows it's all speculation anyways

How do you explain the two top 8 finishes, and 10 win seasons, by the Griz the prior two years? The Griz are way better than they would have been under Stitt. My god, Stitt never got a coaching job after leaving UM and is out of coaching.

How many were Stitt recruits? Not the qb for sure. I don't believe most of what you say, so, if want people to believe what you say, provide some back up.

Could you put that in English?

Teams like 1-10 Idaho State, 3-8 EWU, 4-7 NW State (lost 66-7 today!), 3-8 South Dakota (lost 55-14 today!), 1-9 Cal Poly, 2-9 Indiana State, 4-6 Portland State. Do those kind of teams make the playoffs? Can we play one of them and bring them to the mecca of fcs football and have Riley hyperventilate about it all week?

Of course, teams like that don't make the playoffs, but teams that play them make the playoffs. If Johnson is healthy, I'd be happy to play any of the top teams in the playoffs.

You have absolutely no way of knowing that, Stitt may have finished just as well… Or some other coach who isn't Bobby. I just know we are not where we should be right now. I know you will say I am wrong and you are right and I don't really care, you haven't played in decades and the game has passed you by

You have no way of knowing what you said. Most people would agree with me. That's why Stitt got fired, and Hauck got hired.

If you look at a majority of the replies to your posts lately, I can most certainly say that most people do not agree with you

The funniest thing about people arguing for Bobby are the same reasons they said Stitt had to go.

1) Couldn't win w/o starting QB/inablity to have backup ready to play
2) Player development and departures from program
3) Bad losses to the Cats- Hauck blew a 22-0 lead at home and now has the top 2 worst losses on the road.

Johnsons a 3rd school 6th year senior who's not healthy elite or getting better. But if Griz make the playoffs can't bench him because there's probably another elite stud 3rd school 6th year loyal leader they’re recruiting and don't want to upset.

You research it stubby. Its not hard to understand Bobby took a team with many Stitt recruits to the playoffs. Good grief...you are the dumbest ivy league grad in history.

Game passed him by years ago. Dude is delusional.

"Bobby's guys" got 7 wins against teams that averaged about 2.6 wins this season.

So convenient to discard any mention of the back to back 10 win seasons.

...and in year 5 with ALL his own recruits...is that convenient?

So in the last 3 years they have 10, 10, and 7 wins and yet many want him gone. Not sure that makes a whole lot of sense other than people expected this to be like his last stint without realizing that the Griz had fallen a long way since then and the other BSC schools have gotten better.

He also went to the quarterfinals twice and had two 10-win seasons, something Stitt never accomplished.

One coach was 21-14 (0.600) and the other is 35-16 (0.687). Hauck hasn't been as successful as he or anyone wanted, but he's been a lot more successful than Stitt ever was.
