Eric Sanders New DC

Cool. I don't have time to go watch all those games. Maybe you could summarize....
Eastern occasionally used 3 down fronts in sub packages last season. Their defense changed the structure depending on down, distance and opponent more so than most teams. The Gregorak and Semore defenses here were similar in that they occasionally used 3 down but it was not the standard defense they used.

You understand how college works…right?
You do not know who I am, right? Been involved at all levels for long time. Having fun poking at side line fans now. Yes I am still involved but semi retired from bigger programs

What if I told you EWU ran multiple fronts against us last year?
What if I told you I just rewatched the ENTIRE game last weekend and they almost exclusively ran the 4-2-5

What if I told you that EVERY defense in football as a “base”, whatever that may be, but also has flexibility enough to change situationally.

What if I told you that at some point you might want to bring an a dime package and math requires that where you add 1 you must also subtract 1 if your goal is to stay within the rules of 11 men on the field.

What if I told you my fucking 80’s high school defense had both nickel and dime packages with a 3 man front and we were an almost (95% of the time) exclusive 4-4 defense. We also had a *GASP* 5 man front.

Give it up Morpheus. Lawrence Fishburne you ain’t.

Than why are you asking dumb ass questions that you should know the answer to…🤔

Just playing you. How many can we add to roster? 107 listed on GoGriz. Some may leave and some may not count toward our limit. Who are the ones that would not count on our limit due to grandfathering in. I Do not know who they are? You stated previously there are ways to add players other than portal legally. JC coaches I spoke to in past month keep asking Missoula community reputation still from 2012 and the book about all that. Do you have any connections? Not recruiting but speak with Sanders and Kennedy about your concerns. This has been fun:ROFLMAO:

Here's what I've gleaned so far from a couple of quarters of football.

EWU Dline had 300+ DTs so they recruit the big boys. Looks like they like at least one DT with a 300+. It will be interesting if they try to beef up who we have or bring someone in.

They rush 4 on passing downs and expect them to get to the QB. Don't rush more than 4 most times but still blitz occasionally.

Secondary played mostly man. EWUs man defense was effective if they kept disciplined with their eyes.

EWU LBs didn't impress me. Griz LBs are about two steps up in talent.

Eye discipline (looking in the backfield) was absent at times which resulted in huge offensive plays. (TDs)

EWU offense didn't help their defense. Griz offense is better.

Based on what I'm seeing and reading, I don't think they have a base defense. They used a variety of fronts based on personnel packages. From what I have rewatched from the Griz game, they used primarily an odd front (NT over the center). Against the Cats, it was primarily an even front (DTs using 3i tech).

At times, EWU looked like the Seahawks in their fronts and coverages.

If your primary reason for believing a team is in a 3 man front is because there’s a 1 tech and not two 3 techs I’m going to have to question your understanding of defensive football.
Also the cats lined up primarily with a 1 tech (sometimes 2i) and a 3 tech. The only time I saw them do anything different was on passing downs when they brought their 4 defensive ends in on the line…in both games
It’s very very seldom in college football that you see a 4 man front that lines up primarily or at all with both tackles at 3 tech

So just like every other team in the world that runs a primarily 4 man front?
