George Ferguson made several accurate points. The MSU indoor facility will be designed for many sports and fully compliant with Title IX.
The Phase I fundraising went very well, and efforts have already begun on Phase II. The original 2017 plan called for $16MM, but the development effort exceeded that number in short order, and instead of calling it a day and starting Phase II, the AD decided to make Phase I even better on the order of $18.2MM. The Academic Center will be improved from the original plan and a few other upgrades (like CDA's favorite: hydro therapy).
Here are a few highlights of the MSU indoor facility plan:
* 150,000 to 160,000 square feet
* 300-meter track for indoor training and NCAA competition
* 8 lanes with 8 lane straight-a-way
* 100-yard synthetic field for all field sports
* seating for up to 1,000 spectators
* locker rooms, concessions, restrooms and amenities to support events
* 45’-0” clear below structure at perimeter, 65’-0” clear at center
* Press Box and Camera Positions
