Stitts OL recruits are incoming freshmen and red shirt freshmen.... how can you justify your statement, knowing that CB'S and OLine are the hardest positions to find drop downs
Not true. Stitt has some of his 0-lineman who will be in their 3d year in the program. I believe he brought in some late in his first recruiting season. Also, if there was such a huge lack of o-line talent, why not bring in JC's and drop downs, or at least try?
You honestly think he did not try? His first recruiting class was after he had been on the job less than 8 weeks. So even if you count that class it would be incoming freshmen, red shirt freshmen and red shirt sophomores this fall. Nothing above a freshmen in his first two years of games.
I think this may be where the 4 less scholarships were painful. Hard to justify a drop down without full scholarship obviously. Had to spread thin a bit overall with creative scholarshiping. Certainly won't be likely to get a drop down, out of state kid, to Missoula without a full scholarship. My guess is that he was hoping the O-line was good enough to get some things done and he could get the skill players for the offense. Corner is also not easy, with same issue on less available just made it a numbers game essentially. Now with full numbers, depth, and OL skill in the young guys, I think it's on the right track.
I for one was sick of the numerous threads about stitt sucking and the second coming of BH. Already sick of people giving PL trouble about it. Perhaps he may have done it differently and merged them instead of closing, but they were all over the place and truely for the most part garbage (some good comments). The best thing said is in 7 weeks we have Griz football. I, for one, plan on taking my son to his first Griz game week 3, the day after his birthday. The Griz will win, be 2-1, and cannot wait for the experience. If Nick Saban was the coach, people would complain on here because his press conferences are boring, he wears funny sun hats so he doesn't get skin cancer, or they don't like the name "Nick". Give it a freaking rest, people. Fall camp is close...I can smell the tailgating food...I can feel some excitement in the air...and I think that the Griz will have a good overall season, and we can put to rest some of this bull crap.
