Classless EWU!!!

Some of you are delusional. I'll tell you what, if you can't handle Eastern's fans, don't ever try to go to a University of Oregon game. That's a hostile crowd, man. People throw stuff at you. Once a guy even tried to piss on me (seriously, and inside the stadium, no less).

Frankly, I've seen pretty bad behaviour at Montana too. You can't let it get to you. Kids or alumni get drunk and run their mouth. I'm a pretty big dude, so usually I see people being dipshits to one another, but they seldom get too lippy with me.

That said, I will say Cheney has an unusual "shitkicker" culture that I actually really like. If you try to offend someone, you will get dough popped. It's pretty simple. Yet it's not a gangy culture, just one where fighting isn't considered all that big of a deal. If you go out to the bars in Cheney, you'll probably see a scrap... I always thought this was normal growing up in it, but moving to Portland let me experience what a "soft" city was like.

Same deal here..at 6'5" and 240 I get very little crap face to face, it was drunk kids in most cases after I passed by, not a big deal. The issue with my daughter was actually kind of funny...

You know who has classy fans?

Idaho State. They suck, but darn it, they are the nicest fans in the world.

Same with Portland State. Not that they really have many fans, but I've never had a bad experience with a PSU fan.

When are the playoffs for the Classiest Classy Fans of the World trophy?

What's sad is that you've got me by about 4 inches, but I've got you by about 10 pounds.

Here's some pics from Spokesman Review...seems like half are ones of Nguyen running wild http://www.spokesman.com/picture-stories/ewu-vs-montana-sept-29/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The original post in this thread was so over the top that it was downright laughable! It made Griz fans sound like sore, whining, losers!!

There are morons in the EWU fanbase, just like there are in the Griz fanbase (AG1). Students get drunk and say stupid things at EWU games just as much as Griz games in Missoula! That's what homefield advantage is about people..going to a visiting stadium rooting for the visiting team isn't supposed to be a cake walk! When I walk into an opposing teams stadium wearing my teams gear, I fully expect to be yelled at, heckled, and treated badly by some (And it's happened plenty at WA-Griz). You have to have thick skin and realize that that's what makes the rivalry between these two teams that much better. Obviously, some people go to far and it's ridiculous but to group the entire EWU fanbase together is plain ignorant!

This was an incredible game no matter who you root for, although of course I'm going to be happier than most Griz fans. Do I hate the Griz? Yeah, I do, but I treated every Griz fan with respect and tried to make them feel welcome until kickoff. Then, it's time to root for my team! Does anyone really think they'd be treated this way by EWU fans if they weren't treated the same way by Griz fans?? It's just the way that it is between two respected teams in the Big Sky...If all EWU fans just showed up and rooted for their team and everyone was nice and made sure life was peachy for UM fans, it would be just like it was 6 years ago...all maroon and silver in the stands at our home! Those days are over!

Actually, it would be very classy of you EWU fans to sell your tickets to Griz fans, just so we won't have to go through the horrors of watching your fans root for your team and celebrate a miraculous victory. How classy is that? Willingly allow Montana fans to have 100% of the tickets, and maybe you could even build a new seating section that rotates around the field for the UM band. That way, all the Griz fans can get to experience the band no matter where they are seated!

Very, VERY classy that would be.

My family, friends, and I enjoyed our time in Cheney, except for the last few minutes of the game and its outcome, of course.

The Eagles fans were gracious. The Cheney and campus cops that came by the tailgate were smiling and friendly. We ended up sitting in the north end zone. Concessions and porta-potties there were sufficient.

We had many Eagles fans near us. There was a lot of friendly back and forth between Griz fans and Eagles fans - and even 2 MSU fans. We had some great discussions about the players and the game strategy: Eagles = pass, Griz = run, Eagles run D = not good, Griz pass D = not good. We each expected it from the beginning of the game.

It did suck that we could not bring in any water, even unopened, or snacks. The security guy kept apologizing for making us get rid of it. Rules are rules. Bad rules are bad rules. Oh well. We quickly got over that.

It also sucked that ticket prices for the Griz-Eagles game in Cheney have gotten to the level of Griz games in Missoula. Demand and supply. It is what it is.

One of us has to win - and unfortunately it was the Eagles THIS TIME.

I posted about a bad incident I witnessed after the game on Saturday. The rest of my experience was awesome (except for the Griz' play in the final six minutes of course). Eags fans were great to chat with and very cool. They just need to learn to be loud on defense. HAHA. I personally only encountered one bad dude myself. As I was walking to my car I was telling my wife that I believe MSU will dominate Eastern in Cheney. I wasn't saying it in a bad way, just saying it that IMO, MSU is a better team. Out of the darkness a guy behind me tapped me on the shoulder and told me he hoped we get in a wreck on the way back to Missoula. WOW. But never-the-less, when you're visiting fans you're going to get some of that type of stuff. Juts the way it is. Doesn't mean the fan base is classless. Actually for all the whining and bitching about everyone elses fans on this board, I've yet to meet a "Classless Fan Base" Pretty hard to judge a group that big.

True:

Team A has two fans
Fan #1 is classless
Fan #2 is full of class

So is the entire fan base classless?

Is the fanbase class half full or half empty? 8-)

Interesting to see this one in the Spokesman-Review:

This doesnt apply to EWU, 99% of their fanbase is a bunch of clueless wannabe douchebags, they want to be important because they know they are nothing, they have littleman syndrome, they want to belong.

info is spot on about their fans and that doesnt surprise me in the least its expected. Hell the classless losers are on this board 2 days later rubbing in their victory over a very very bad Griz team.

It speaks volumes.

I have heard of many DBags from Glasgow, and you must be one of them.

Calling out a whole community now? Nice :stfu:
I did not call out a whole community maybe you should learn how to read. My wife and her family are from Glasgow and I have met some nice people from up there. But my wife has told me stories of how horribly she was treated by some of the jocks up there, not sure who it was but they put dead rabbits and cats on her car, so yes these people from up there qualify as total DBags, I hope I get to meet some of this people whenever she has a class reunion, might have to take my baseball bat with me!

What was over the top about it, I thought y'all looked like dumbasses charging the field when the game was not won by score as the clock expired, and I can't believe your pansy-ass Sisco afro hair quarterback was crying after the game, what a fricking p@ssy!!! I wonder if he was out singing the Thong Song after the game. Your game week with the Griz is over, so :stfu: and get off our board!!!!!

I said Bozeman when I was in Cheney. Not sure why I typed that, guess visions of Cheney are still dancing in my head. At any rate, I like all but two EWU fans I met. I had a great time and it was a great game. The Northern Quest is a very nice place too. It's a lot different than when I used to go to the EWU/Griz games in Cheney when I was a student at UM. Different meaning, everything over there is BETTER now.
