Not taking anything away from McQueary cause he is a beast and I'm sure will be great, but one common theme amongst Cat posters this month has been "MSU's backups are better than the starters". I'm wondering why those guys don't actually win the job in fall camp then? The MSU depth chart doesn't reflect these assertions by some MSU fans, with the exceptions of season-ending injuries. I've seen people say Coe is better than Gale, Foster and Vunipola better than Na', and more recently Brekke and McQueary are better than them all. Why aren't they winning the starting jobs if they are indeed THE BEST PLAYERS? It makes no sense. I always thought at this level, and especially at MSU, which has supposedly ascended to the second-best program in the FCS, feelings, grade or age weren't considered when it comes to playing time. If McQueary is better than DM, why wouldn't he play? If Brekke is the best running back in camp, why is he listed fourth on the depth chart? Don't the best players on the team play and help win football games?
