I cannot recall time since the early 80's wherein MSU beat us based on depth. It will be most surprising if it happens in November.

Well, your about to be surprised this November. I agree, that Cat's were deficient in the depth area in the past. But, you're now in the future and the Cats are loaded. Ash has done an excellent job in building quality depth. I know it is really hard to fathom that kemajic but it is true.

So Ash has developed quality depth, ok. Is this the year he quits shitting his pants in the playoffs?

I really hope Preston is okay. He has worked his butt off. He is a tremendous talent. Yes, I agree if we lose him it is a tremendous loss. But, someone will step up. I do believe someone will fill that gap and do a good job. You give people an opportunity sometimes and they go to the next level. Sometimes you think this person can never be as good as the starting guy. But these things happen all the time. Look at Caleb Scriebeis. He was a walk on. He worked his butt off, got an opportunity and wins the highest award you can get on defense in the FCS. The Cats are in a good position to have a talented player to step up. A few years ago you couldn't say that. Let the games begin. If we don't have someone, it will become evident real soon.

Man...33 how much ether are you going to inhale tonight ? Puff...puff...puff... Your starting to give off that "Hindenburg" air about you. You guys will be o.k. but you're going to lose some games this year. Additional losses are looking more likely by the day oke: as you cart personnel off of the field. A couple more "L's" than the "euphoria" you are now experiencing. :egriz: Keeping expectations realistic will prevent a harsh crash landing. I would also advise possibly packing a parachute !!

wbftg, I don't disagree, and I will say the Cat helmet thread was really stupid. But this forum DOES SAY Montana Grizzlies Football AND the FCS. And I think a substantial injury to Preston Gale is pretty big FCS news. Not the kind of news you'd wish on anybody, but big FCS news none-the-less. And MOST Griz fans are posting nothing more than well wishes for Gale, because injuries SUCK, regardless of what colors a kid wears.

Preston Gale is a super athlete. If it is serious it is bad news. However, the good news is the Cats have great depth at that positon and will be fine. The major difference this year is that there is good depth at every positon. Experience wise may not be as good but talent wise-excellent!

Bobcat fans keep saying you're so deep everywhere. I think you have confused the term quality depth. Just because someone has talent and you liked their high school recruiting tape doesn't necessarily mean they add quality depth. It could, but...Preston Gale was your starter for a reason. You don't have any other D ends as big, physical, and experienced as him other than maybe your other starter, Daly. It's a bummer, to be sure, but it's kind of ridiculous to assume their won't be a big drop-off. Remember, if his backup becomes the starter then another, even less qualified player has to rotate in at some point. That's how injuries to starters have a trickle-down effect. You might have exciting prospects, but I just don't see much quality depth across your d-line, o-line, or linebacking crew. I'll keep looking though...

Wrong, yes Gale was slated as the starter as he was the best. But, with the talent we have there is not a huge drop off. In fact, it will be minimal. Obviously, you don't have much knowledge about the depth situation overall. Keep looking. You are going to be surprised!
