Dying for some news on Jonathan Earl. I was pretty confident we were going to get him but with each passing day I'm starting to lose faith. He is exactly what we need at the CB position.

JC recruits are notoriously quiet and waiting for paperwork to be finished. The first day of the semester is Jan 14th, so I would expect to find out after the new year.

I looked at the recruiting calendar a bit closer and it’s a dead period from Dec.16 to Jan. 16 which means no contact. However, there’s a 7 day quiet period before the start of school for mid-year transfers exception. Remember dead period = no contact except through phone or social media. Quiet period = no off campus scouting, visits, etc. So it’s possible we could get some on campus visits that first week before school to get mid-year guys signed up.

He also retweeted his unofficial visit to Charlotte so I wouldn't get too excited yet. He tweeted yesterday that it was the end of the dead period so he's gearing up for recruiting again. Hope he comes.

Yeah might be trying to drum up interest but who knows.

If already had a full ride offer (not sure but guessing he did) the fact he is ready for dead period to end to get back at recruiting sounds like shopping around to me and not a "paperwork" type issue. I bet coaches are going after others and not waiting for his shopping spree. Pretty poor DB signing rate vs offers from dropdowns and JCs last few recruiting cycles if they swing and miss again on him so might be after others and moving on offering others, first to sign gets it style

They are hoping to bring in two corner transfers by this semester either drop down or judo so they’ll be moving quick. Remains to be seen if they can pull it off. However, even if school starts still could technically add them a week or so in.
