Look at the OL in here and last year....Gee, do you think the coaches know how screwed we were at that position after the last head coach didn't bother building the team from the trenches outward? Thank god we have a staff that understands the importance of good OL and DL play!

Boy were those rankings bad.

Whatever happened to Brandon Scott? And that’s the thing about stitts recruits, on paper he had very good recruiting classes but it didn’t translate on the field for one reason or another

*edit*. Looked up Brandon Scott’s bio and he medically retired. So both he and Jackson left for medical reasons. Eickmeyer played this year though.

I think it was the JUCO CB transfer, Earl.

The reason I say that is because Hauck mentioned the recruit “wasn’t going to sign anywhere” and Earl was the only one from a group of 4 recruits who took official visits together who didn’t announce a commitment in some fashion. Hauck also said in presser something about waiting on a JUCO CB transfer, so that seems to line up.

I have a theory that the staff already had paperwork for all recruits in, which is why they were able to start announcing the class so early and quickly (back to back to back, etc). I don’t think Earls was in yet which led to this late night call and the delay in the JUCO transfer CB paperwork that Hauck alluded to.

All theory at this point but that’s my gut feel

I think it was Aaron Fontes. Hadn’t committed anywhere or heard anything until he officially signed. From his Twitter looks like he was holding out for some bigger offers. So I bet the griz scooped him up at the last minute.

Curious about this retweet Earl sent this morning of his highlights. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but it's sort of like he's trying to get attention from coaches again. Did the offer get pulled or something with the paperwork fall through? FWIW his tape says he's a December grad.
