Looking at twitter it looks like the Griz think of McGinnis as a WR. So maybe someone that has watched him play can say whether they'd prefer him there or FS?

Also I am beginning to think Holt will end up playing the DL instead of OL like Kyle reported now that we are getting OL in this class. Defensive coaches have started following him. Maybe it's wishful thinking but I'd prefer him to play on that side of the ball instead of OL.

His best shot at ever playing for the Griz is on the defensive line.

I get that there are a ton of varying opinions on Holt and there are a lot of people who aren't overly enamored with him as a football player. He had a good senior year, but knowing a bunch of people from the area you'd think he'd dominate more. At times he wasn't the best player on his own team, and I get the issues. Wide range of opinions on what type of player he is.

He is a bit like Addison Owen, former Griz player, in that I don't think it is a given you can find a position for him defensively. Hard to ignore however the immense athletic potential of Holt though, at 6-4 and in the low 220-240 range, he can put a bunch of weight on and remain athletic. He has good to great feet and would be a good o-line project. Honestly, he might get moved to the defensive side of the ball, but I think his ceiling is higher as an athletic OT than as a DE.

The Griz coaches' want to "Joe Dahl", Holt (add size to an athletic big kid and have him block).

Joe Dahl came to the Griz in 2011 and red-shirted. He had played at University High School in Spokane, and was selected first team all-state at defensive end.

The Griz had him at OT.

He transferred to Wash State where he was an All-American OL and drafted into the NFL as an OL.

Joe Dahl makes first All-America list

Despite missing Washington State's final four games of the 2015 season, left tackle Joe Dahl was named a Second Team All-American by USA Today Tuesday morning.

Dahl entered the season as one of the country's most highly regarded pass blockers and he lived up to the billing, playing 692 snaps and giving up just three sacks, two quarterback hits and 12 quarterback hurries against the Pac-12's cadre of pass rushers, according to data compiled by Pro Football Focus College.

Dahl was already named First Team All-Conference by the Pac-12's coaches. It remains to be seen whether he will be available for WSU's Dec. 26 Sun Bowl matchup against Miami.

The Deming twins are two of the best basketball players in Montana this year. And they pass the eye test at 6'4", 210+ lbs. Here is Bryson hitting a fade-away three and his brother Braydon is #20.

I'm excited for those guys. Braydon's highlights at LB are impressive, that guy has a nose for the ball and finishes tackles with authority.

Bryson is a diamond in the rough at QB in my opinion....and hopefully an ace punter!

They still lost in OT.

I watched Nate Dick last night play basketball versus Laurel. Seemed like a great leader. Very quick, tough, and tenacious. But seemed very small (short). I think he will be a good WR and understand why he wasn't recruited to play QB for the Griz.

PS Laurel got the win! Hansen is the best coach in the state.

I was in the background going "We got spirit, yes we do, we got spirit, how about you!" Kinda amazed the cats don't do that cheer at their games.

Except Dahl had much more production in High School and had a walk-on opportunity at Wazzu but took the scholarship offer from UM. Holt is no Dahl.

I agree with you.

This is so awesome. What a year for Luke because at this point last year, his life was about to change forever. In my opinion, Luke is the #1 QB recruit in this entire class and he has all the tools to excel at the position. Congrats kid!

I was hoping he'd be a Griz, but how great to go to the Big 12 and be a gunslinger! Fantastic story. I bet ESPN picks up on it...

#20 Jaylen Taggart headed to MT Tech. Great kid, smart kid and lots of potential. Recruits like this are why Tech is moving to the top of the Frontier Conference.

100% agree. Jaylen could easily develop into a starting OT or DE for either Cats or Griz. Could care less if he comes in at 240 lbs. Way too athletic and strong not to at least develop into a 2-year starter. Will have the potential to be a 4-year starter at Tech.

My favorite highlight of Jaylen's came against Columbia Falls. Displays everything you need to see from a high school recruit at either OT or DE.

I like his tape. This type of kid is what will keep Montana Tech near top of NAIA National Polls.
