A couple of names that I had forgotten about:

9 - Sean Doherty Safety 5-9 170 So. SQ Littlestown, Penn.
27 -Ryan Herrera WR 6-4 180 Fr. RS Spokane, Wash.

One has good size and the other seems, well, tiny.

A 5'9" safety??????? Wtf??????

I hope you are joking.

See Ed Reed, Bob Sanders, Troy Polamalu etc. Half of the top safety prospects in this years’ draft are under 6 feet.

All of those guys are certainly some of the greats. But...

ESPN Top 150 doesn't have a single safety under 6ft:

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/playerrankings" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

NFL has quite a few (about 16/50 of the top prospects are under 6ft):

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/2013/FS" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/2013/SS" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm not sure where you're getting that "half" of the top prospects for safety are under 6ft?

Being an under 6' safety is one thing. Being a "listed" 5' 9" safety is quite another. If Doherty is listed at
5' 9", you can bet he is no more than 5' 7" tall.

Absolutely agree. These are great athletes... I honestly don't believe that they need to "fudge" their numbers.

No longer on the team. I believe because of injury, but he was playing a little intramural flag football this spring!

Yeah, that one's great!! Especially because the guy he trucks is 70-80 lbs heavier than himself. Also that was just 2 weeks before the Cline massacre. I'll take that 5-9 toughness every day!!

Yeah, it's crazy how "textbook" those hits are. The hits are carbon copies of each other.

Kirshner and Rominger are safeties listed at 5' 10"; does that make them 5' 8"?

For sure!! And I think Cline had 50-60 lbs on him too. I really hope our seconday is as tough as these guys were. I know those are big shoes to fill but I would be nice to see.

Cline would have 50-60 lbs on him if he weighed 120 or 130 pounds.

Most rosters "round up" significantly on height and weight. I stood next to Rominger on the field after the South Dakota game. If Rominger is 5'10", than I am 6' 8"(6' 1" actually). The guy is short.
