Some interesting answers to some of our offseason questions.

Held was recruited as a long snapper im assuming.

A few New names:
#6 Kendrick Van Ackeren (Was part of the recruitng class transfer from Hawaii)
#8 Travon Van ( Was part of recruiting class transfer from Marshall)
#9 Sean Doherty (Remember hearing his name last spring hales from PA)
#27 Ryan Herrera ( Came in the Fall as a walk-on be interesting if he makes team)
#28 Jamal Anderson ( Part of recruiting class walk-on, could be a very good returner)
#50 Aaron Held ( Dont know much about him but some say he is a walk-on but their is a picture of him on facebook signing a letter of intent and walk-ons dont sign letters of intent).
#82 Joey Spoelstra (Transfer from Division II Northwestern, assume he is a walk-on)
#85 Jordan Harper (Was part of recruiting class also, walk-on served 2 year LDS mission prior to joining team).
#86 Curtis White ( One of Jordan Johnson's favorite targets in high school was a 5 star recruit and went to Oregon before getting hurt and retiring, Will be a big contributor if we use the TE more and he can stay healthy).

Names Missing:
Mike Stallone ( Very sad not seeing his name on the roster I was very excited watching his highlight video and wanted this guy to suceed. Anyone know where he went? He is enrolled in school.)
Dan Morstein ( Another disappointment I was hoping this guy could make some waves)
Trevor Poole ( We all know what happend with the drug thing but will he be back in the fall? time will tell)
Jake Simkins ( Dont know where he went?)
Zachary Taves (OL from Long Beach, I thought he would become very good, dont know what happend to him).

White was an injured 5 star recruit before he signed with Oregon. He was injured again after joining the Ducks.

When did the Griz begin recruiting long snappers?

Where is the mass exodus of transfers we were forewarned about back in Nov.-Jan?

All kidding aside. GOD I'M GLAD IT'S SPRING BALL!!

Here is some insight from Coach Delaney on spring ball:

Noah Scarver?? Whats going on there? I don't see him in the line up. Anything on him?

He's a HS grad so I would guess he wouldn't start until fall.

Some interesting answers to some of our offseason questions.

The Trevor Poole thing is really interesting considering he posted a picture of him running onto Eastern's field from this year holding the American flag on his Facebook March 4. His current one is a picture of him standing next to a painted number 72 player on a Pressbox window.

Perhaps he's being phased back in slowly and having to really earn a spot back on the team?

Oh ok, that makes more sense. Thanks for clearing that up. I've been wondering about him ever since I read about him and he seems like a good fit.

My guess is he is still on probation for his drug charge. I think the probation will be over this summer. He is probably off the team until all the terms of his probation are fulfilled.

Trevor Poole is "still in the process" of reinstatement to the team. Because he plead guilty to a lesser charge that included a deferred (6 mo. I believe)sentence.. he has to wait until that runs its course to be officially back on the team. Speaking from memory ( and that can be questionable at times), the 6 mo deal will get him back before fall camp starts. We will have Trevor back for fall camp. :thumb:

A couple of names that I had forgotten about:

9 - Sean Doherty Safety 5-9 170 So. SQ Littlestown, Penn.
27 -Ryan Herrera WR 6-4 180 Fr. RS Spokane, Wash.

One has good size and the other seems, well, tiny.

Same reason why "Mick Delaney" doesn't appear on the spring roster. :)
 I know I keep bringing him up but I really think there is something about this guy thats gonna do big things for us.

Keith Thompson wasn't all that big but I do remember him knocking the snot outta some of them big TEs and recievers. Hopefully we got another one here.
