Held was recruited as a long snapper im assuming.

A few New names:
#6 Kendrick Van Ackeren (Was part of the recruitng class transfer from Hawaii)
#8 Travon Van ( Was part of recruiting class transfer from Marshall)
#9 Sean Doherty (Remember hearing his name last spring hales from PA)
#27 Ryan Herrera ( Came in the Fall as a walk-on be interesting if he makes team)
#28 Jamal Anderson ( Part of recruiting class walk-on, could be a very good returner)
#50 Aaron Held ( Dont know much about him but some say he is a walk-on but their is a picture of him on facebook signing a letter of intent and walk-ons dont sign letters of intent).
#82 Joey Spoelstra (Transfer from Division II Northwestern, assume he is a walk-on)
#85 Jordan Harper (Was part of recruiting class also, walk-on served 2 year LDS mission prior to joining team).
#86 Curtis White ( One of Jordan Johnson's favorite targets in high school was a 5 star recruit and went to Oregon before getting hurt and retiring, Will be a big contributor if we use the TE more and he can stay healthy).

Names Missing:
Mike Stallone ( Very sad not seeing his name on the roster I was very excited watching his highlight video and wanted this guy to suceed. Anyone know where he went? He is enrolled in school.)
Dan Morstein ( Another disappointment I was hoping this guy could make some waves)
Trevor Poole ( We all know what happend with the drug thing but will he be back in the fall? time will tell)
Jake Simkins ( Dont know where he went?)
Zachary Taves (OL from Long Beach, I thought he would become very good, dont know what happend to him).

Mike Stallone is back in a So Cal JC.

A couple of names that I had forgotten about:

9 - Sean Doherty Safety 5-9 170 So. SQ Littlestown, Penn.
27 -Ryan Herrera WR 6-4 180 Fr. RS Spokane, Wash.

One has good size and the other seems, well, tiny.

A 5'9" safety??????? Wtf??????

That guy has done ok .... he isn't quite the 5-10 he's listed at :)

66 - Logan Hines OC 6-4 291 Jr. 1V Phoenix, Ariz. (Phoenix College)
68 - McCauley Todd OC 6-7 300 Fr. RS Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Washington HS)
69 - Kjelby Oiland OC/Snaps 6-4 295 Sr. 2V Spokane, Wash. (Ferris HS)
75 - William Poehls OG 6-8 340 Sr. 3V Chandler, Ariz. (Chandler HS)
76 - Danny Kistler Jr. OT 6-8 325 Sr. 3V Seattle, Wash. (O’Dea HS)

I didn't realize Colt was that "short." ...it makes me feel much better about my sub 6ft stature.

Curtis White was in the same class as JJ but only listed as a sophomore? How does that work...???

Redshirt and then a medical redshirt?

They have him listed as a RS - Sophomore over on: http://www.scout.com/a.z?s=143&p=8&c=1&nid=6118510" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I hope you are joking.

See Ed Reed, Bob Sanders, Troy Polamalu etc. Half of the top safety prospects in this years’ draft are under 6 feet.

Raider, bless GM's heart, he loves Griz football but is seemingly learning the game on the fly.

I guess nobody read what I posted back there... Keith Thompson. He wasn't very big but he would Punish anyone who got near him that had the ball. If I remember correctly he was only 5' 9" and 175.

Not that I don't think you have a point, but he wasn't a safety.

Oh crap. :oops: I must be getting old. I stand corrected. Thanks for refreshing my memory. I hope this new guy is the new KT tho, still as far as putting a whack on guys. I'll never forget the sound in Wa-Griz when he ran over Matt Cline lol

I wish someone, anyone on this team would deliver a hit like Keith T. did. I didn't see one super hard tackle last year. Too many arm tackles (misses) and ducking of the head.

For Sure!! I think the only hit I seen came from the offensive side... Sam Gratton punished EWU's safety... but that was about it. I don't remember anything coming from the D

All of those guys are certainly some of the greats. But...

ESPN Top 150 doesn't have a single safety under 6ft:

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/playerrankings" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

NFL has quite a few (about 16/50 of the top prospects are under 6ft):

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/2013/FS" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/2013/SS" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm not sure where you're getting that "half" of the top prospects for safety are under 6ft?

in addition to those mentioned i don't see heavy runner dl, alford dl, tuliapupu lb, butler rb, brezchek qb, vecsy k, and holt, lb. i believe someone posted that holt was gone a few weeks ago. i didn't hear anything about these others. anyone know? butler has a bad knee.

It was reported here (so who really knows) that Brezchek went back to Stanford...don't know about the others.
