How many football championships has Dr. Shinn won? I like champions.Dr. Sirmon is an excellent candidate with deep ties to UM and UM athletics.
However, Dr. Shinn is more qualified as he is already operating as the interim president of a regional university with 27,000+ students that has seen a 25% increase in enrollment over the last 10 years (Covid really impacted BSU's enrollment and they didn't fully recover pre-Covid numbers until 23-24). Undergraduate enrollment has increased every year over the last ten years.
He's also the interim president of a future PAC-12 school athletic program with a $60 million budget that is well respected across most of the U.S. Dr. Shinn is by far the better candidate and he is the tranformative leader UM needs at this moment to create a renaissance and catapult the trajectory of the university.
If you want UM to be the future and UM athletics, including Griz football, ready for the future, Dr. Shinn is the best person for the position.
This would be a fantastic bit, but I've seen enough of your posts to know that it's not lolHow many football championships has Dr. Shinn won? I like champions.
Why don’t you go do some research on some of things Dr. Shinn has accomplished for Boise State Athletics? You might actually be impressed! How many football championships has Dr. Shinn won? I like champions.
Pretty sure a president should not have too much to do with championships. Thats why he hires an AD.How many football championships has Dr. Shinn won? I like champions.
If Dr. Shinn is hired and BK continues to be the football coach, prepare to take a trip or two to Nashville in the near future. How many football championships has Dr. Shinn won? I like champions.
Short drive for me, I'll be thereIf Dr. Shinn is hired and BK continues to be the football coach, prepare to take a trip or two to Nashville in the near future.
BK is already a champion from what is considered to be many the best college football game of all time.If Dr. Shinn is hired and BK continues to be the football coach, prepare to take a trip or two to Nashville in the near future.
You didn't do much research huh.what do you think the possibility of the guy to use a umontana offer to leverage his chances of getting appointed the boise state president? he's only interim, so he probably could leave at the drop of a hat, putting bsu in a potentially tough position. i don't know how far along they are in their search - it sounds like it's been going on for a while, and they say they've been having trouble attracting satisfactory candidates. at least according to ai. maybe they'd just throw up their at the news, and hire shinn permanently.
Probably pretty good and probably why he’s “a” finalist. If he declines or is clearly not a good fit, I’m betting we see another finalist the following week - especially if they want to fast track it - which would mean getting the hire in front of the BOR for the May meeting.what do you think the possibility of the guy to use a umontana offer to leverage his chances of getting appointed the boise state president? he's only interim, so he probably could leave at the drop of a hat, putting bsu in a potentially tough position. i don't know how far along they are in their search - it sounds like it's been going on for a while, and they say they've been having trouble attracting satisfactory candidates. at least according to ai. maybe they'd just throw up their at the news, and hire shinn permanently.
he says he's not a candidate, but stranger things have happened. they might just decide he's good at the job and offer it anyway. academia works in odd ways. You didn't do much research huh.
Last article listed "the" finalist.Probably pretty good and probably why he’s “a” finalist. There is a large group with significant influence that are completely against him as the hire. We will see, but I think there is a reason that he has been interim for so long and didn't apply in the first place.he says he's not a candidate, but stranger things have happened. they might just decide he's good at the job and offer it anyway. academia works in odd ways.
Fair, but with them attempting to fast track this I’m leaning towards this being the “favorite” finalist of the hiring committee. I’d be stunned if they didn’t have a backup or two already decided if Shinn is not the one.Last article listed "the" finalist.
Don’t need anyone with MT ties, drain the swamp, get rid of the boys network, clean house including the AD dept too. Bring in new fresh energy. What are his qualifications as far as ties to UM? Why would we hire him when Griz national champion David Sirmon is available? We need someone who has seen the value that strong athletics can bring to UM.
Hey, we need to keep these simple-minded kiddos safe and sound from alternative ideas at all costs! Don’t expose them to anything different. Protect them; they can’t think for themselves at that age. Except for me, of course. I was an independent thinker. But nobody else.Or answers it on a different level that might require some introspection.
This take is dumb as fuck. Why would you not consider all aspects of the University when hiring the person responsible for the school as a whole?Of course Egrizzly analyzes everything like sports is so important. In Montana even the high schools put a big emphasis on sports. Sports should not even be considered as a hire. Academics is the answer. Academics draws students . Do you think students go to MSU because of sports ? Poll them and I bet you would find out that very few do.
"Seth Andrew Bodnar is an American academic administrator, veteran, and business executive who was the 19th president of the University of Montana. He is a graduate of West Point and was a Rhodes Scholar with master's degrees from the University of Oxford. " so where did sports come in to play with this hire ? Like I said "Egrizzly analyzes everything like sports is so important" which in turn shows the intelligence level of the posters, not very high. This take is dumb as fuck.
