New University president?

I’m delighted to share that this morning the Board of Regents voted unanimously to select Dr. Jeremiah Shinn as the 20thpresident of the University of Montana.

Members of the Board who spoke during the meeting expressed enthusiastic support for Dr. Shinn, optimism for a bright future for UM, and appreciation for the thoughtful work, input, and thorough process that culminated in the definitive selection of Dr. Shinn from the more than 70 highly qualified applicants for the position.

I fully share the Board’s sentiments and look forward to welcoming Dr. Shinn to campus as the leader of this distinguished flagship institution and as a collaborative partner within Montana’s world-class public university system.

I am profoundly grateful to the Board for its steadfast support; AGB Search for its expertise; the members of the Presidential Search Advisory work group for their time and commitment to getting this right; and to all of you, the campus community, for your perspectives, advice, feedback, and thoughtful participation.

The University of Montana is in good hands and I’m excited for its continued progress with Dr. Shinn at the helm.

Who was mentioned as being brought over as AD? One of the associate ADs? Was there a name or rumor?

I think it was just a rumor but somebody mentioned the Deputy AD Cody Gougler.

What if, just throwing this out there based on the subject TV show, one does the crime, doesn't do time, but gets rung up for $30 million?
