Rewatching game film from last yearYou keep asking what if I told you...
Do you have some actual information or are you just asking crazy hypotheticals?

Cool. I don't have time to go watch all those games. Maybe you could summarize....Rewatching game film from last year
Eastern occasionally used 3 down fronts in sub packages last season. Their defense changed the structure depending on down, distance and opponent more so than most teams. The Gregorak and Semore defenses here were similar in that they occasionally used 3 down but it was not the standard defense they used.Cool. I don't have time to go watch all those games. Don’t forget his inability to recruit several key MT kids away from the CatsThe most important stat is that BH gifted the Cats a national title with that D. He'll be headed for real retirement at the end of next season.
You understand how college works…right?Contact who you know who can get bodies here then
You do not know who I am, right? Been involved at all levels for long time. Having fun poking at side line fans now. Yes I am still involved but semi retired from bigger programsYou understand how college works…right?
What if I told you I just rewatched the ENTIRE game last weekend and they almost exclusively ran the 4-2-5What if I told you EWU ran multiple fronts against us last year?
Than why are you asking dumb ass questions that you should know the answer to…You do not know who I am, right? Been involved at all levels for long time. Having fun poking t side line fans now. Yes I am still involved but semi retired from bigger programs

Just playing you. How many can we add to roster? 107 listed on GoGriz. Some may leave and some may not count toward our limit. Who are the ones that would not count on our limit due to grandfathering in. I Do not know who they are? You stated previously there are ways to add players other than portal legally. JC coaches I spoke to in past month keep asking Missoula community reputation still from 2012 and the book about all that. Do you have any connections? Not recruiting but speak with Sanders and Kennedy about your concerns. This has been funThan why are you asking dumb ass questions that you should know the answer to…![]()
Here's what I've gleaned so far from a couple of quarters of football.Cool. I don't have time to go watch all those games. Maybe you could summarize....
Based on what I'm seeing and reading, I don't think they have a base defense. They used a variety of fronts based on personnel packages. From what I have rewatched from the Griz game, they used primarily an odd front (NT over the center). Against the Cats, it was primarily an even front (DTs using 3i tech). What if I told you I just rewatched the ENTIRE game last weekend and they almost exclusively ran the 4-2-5
What if I told you that EVERY defense in football as a “base”, whatever that may be, but also has flexibility enough to change situationally.
What if I told you that at some point you might want to bring an a dime package and math requires that where you add 1 you must also subtract 1 if your goal is to stay within the rules of 11 men on the field.
What if I told you my fucking 80’s high school defense had both nickel and dime packages with a 3 man front and we were an almost (95% of the time) exclusive 4-4 defense. We also had a *GASP* 5 man front.
Give it up Morpheus. Lawrence Fishburne you ain’t.
The D that didn’t give up much in the first game. The one with a pick 6 for Cats. 3 point loss. Was that a gift by the D?The most important stat is that BH gifted the Cats a national title with that D. He'll be headed for real retirement at the end of next season.
Good at INTs and some chaos. Not good at points and yards per game. Not like it was awful, but it wasn’t good. The best FCS teams keep opponents at around 15 points per game or less. We were 10 over that. Not good.I don’t agree with your assessment of the Griz D. Much better than what you say.
How about the final drive where the D couldn't stop the run and let the Cats run the clock out?The D that didn’t give up much in the first game. The one with a pick 6 for Cats. 3 point loss. Was that a gift by the D?

At times, EWU looked like the Seahawks in their fronts and coverages.
So just like every other team in the world that runs a primarily 4 man front?Eastern occasionally used 3 down fronts in sub packages last season. Their defense changed the structure depending on down, distance and opponent more so than most teams. Some would call that “cherry picking” lolHow about the final drive where the D couldn't stop the run and let the Cats run the clock out?
Good explanation. Also really positive edit from original postIf your primary reason for believing a team is in a 3 man front is because there’s a 1 tech and not two 3 techs I’m going to have to question your understanding of defensive football.
Also the cats lined up primarily with a 1 tech (sometimes 2i) and a 3 tech. The only time I saw them do anything different was on passing downs when they brought their 4 defensive ends in on the line…in both games
It’s very very seldom that you see a 4 man front that lines up primarily or at all with both tackles at 3 tech
Yeah I reread the original and it was a bit snarky, even for me, which was uncalled forGood explanation. Also really positive edit from original post![]()
