This post is just an example of the many others I’ve seen of teams in formal conditioning. (Also love the band work to strengthen ACL/knees)
School started a day or two apart for these teams. Jan 12 was the 8hr start NCAA wide.
My point is- how do we expect Coach J to recruit virtually AND in-person (Seattle), lead the group in Missoula, and
That thinking is totally flawed, if minutes at a previous school dictate if your going to be a good player than Chloe Seelhoff should never been a Griz. At UW, freshman year played only 29 minutes, as a sophomore play a total of 377 minutes with 1 goal, she turned out to a be a hell of a player for the Griz.
The level of a player who gets recruited to UW you do realize is world apart from a player from MTSU or UC San Diego. Low minute P4 players have a higher percentage chance of being good at Montana than very low minute players at average mid-majors.
Look I’m sure J was trying to recruit a bunch of much higher level players but with the team being stripped it’s a tough sell. This generation wants to join a good team, where the team is going to stay at the top and they play straight away. The level of entitlement is insane.

Maybe we let these girls settle in and give them a chance. Last time I checked Griz have a strong history of players proving themselves after playing minimal minutes in their previous years or previous stints. Our last 3 goalkeepers got 1st team all conference the year after playing zero minutes the season before. Makena Smith played in 5 games for Miami Ohio. Lots behind every player's story and path. Often we don't know the reason, like maybe one of the girls had pneumonia that ruined her season last year...These players look like the could be good contributors to the program and I look forward to seeing these girls thrive at Montana.
Sources are telling me that we've made a hire. Have not heard who it is though.

If so now the waiting begins, current players and commitments can enter the portal once a coach is hired.
I have heard the opposite, no hire has been made and speaking to other candidates has started. Also, you have 30 days to go into the portal after your coach has left. When a new coach is hired, there is no window to enter the transfer portal until the spring window opens for everyone.

Was told that football is to pay their first string players $30k, second string $15k, and down!! Guess they’re hoping buy stability to football but would be nice if we could afford to pay for a Soccer HC, code complaint locker room. But hey let’s keep throwing money to the team that can’t figure out MSU.
Except a lot of that money to pay the Football players comes from NIL donations, just like Soccer. It's not coming out of athletic department's pockets which is what is used for coaching salaries.
Was told by a booster an hour ago that he spoke with somebody in the athletic department who told him that they got their guy and an announcement should come within the next couple days. That's where my info came from.

Sounds like a game of telephone which is never correct.
It is my understanding that the girls that stayed are committed and I don't know that many if any wanted to go. I am pretty sure they are conditioning and lifting on their own. They are having Captains practices and are proud to be Griz. Rebuilding will be a task that I am sure they are ALL up for.
