Soccer Citowicki leaving for Wazzu?

This was filmed Thursday in Pullman. I know- not trying to fixate on WSU —but they are top of my feed rn 🤷🏽 Sorry

This post is just an example of the many others I’ve seen of teams in formal conditioning. (Also love the band work to strengthen ACL/knees)

School started a day or two apart for these teams. Jan 12 was the 8hr start NCAA wide.

My point is- how do we expect Coach J to recruit virtually AND in-person (Seattle), lead the group in Missoula, and stay sane?

The first day of training last winter was January 25th and January 23rd the year before that.. just for some reality and maybe less over-dramatizing... UM classes started on Thursday. Last I checked, you can't start training in the winter before classes start. #Nothingburger https://www.instagram.com/montanagrizsoc/reel/DFGblphpb4f/
Yes great point and that was Chris's choice, funny now it has so many people up in arms, maybe those up in arms are coaches and parents of players that are now at WSU trying to stir the pot.

Notes from the meeting
1. Both guys turned down job offers.
2. Lisa wasn’t offered the position.
3. Another candidate is supposed to be on campus next week (name not given).
4. J is acting HC till who knows when.

Insane to think that a D1 program coming off another banner season can’t hire a new HC?! The fact that these guys rejected coming here says a lot about the issues surrounding the program! This kind train wreck definitely makes me sympathize with Chris leaving, who wants to deal with no support (from the school) and getting paid what is pretty much peanut wage (for Missoula).

Did they elaborate why both guys turned down the job? Curious what their line of thinking was.

I heard a few names who were zommed over the break: Molly Rouse, Stuart Gore and Henrik Sohn.
Stuart Gore was recently the head coach at Troy, which is in the Sun Belt. Here is his bio from Troy: https://troytrojans.com/sports/womens-soccer/roster/coaches/stuart-gore/1857

Henrik Sohn is the head coach at North Dakota and just wrapped his first season after being elevated from associate head coach. Here's his UND bio: https://fightinghawks.com/sports/womens-soccer/roster/coaches/henrik-sohn/3419

Of course, Rouse is now Wazzu's associate HC.

Quick Google search on both shows that Stuart Gore has bounced around a lot. He spent the last 3 seasons as the head coach at Troy and that did not go well at all. They went winless in Sun Belt play this season. Before that, he was the head coach at Northwestern State for two seasons and he did great there and actually took them to the NCAA Tournament. So is Troy just a tough job or did this guys lose his luster?

Sohn just wrapped up his first season as head coach at North Dakota but was an assistant for UND the previous two years. He is really young. He graduated college in 2016 so he might not even be 30 yet. He has some head coaching experience after 4 seasons at Kansas Wesleyan. I think he's the better option of the two, but I'm not really wild about either of these options. Guess that's why they were the 4th and 5th options. Damn I really wanted Weber.

personally I think Gore is better than Sohn. He won a NAIA national championship as a head coach. Looking at Troy and the Sun Belt, it's a very tough conference from top to bottom. 3 Sun Belt teams didn't win a conference game this past season. Plus no one has really been successful at Troy, seems Gore for the 4th head coach in 4 years.

Sohn is a young coach but didn't do great this year as the summit league was down. Kansas Wesleyan were also an NAIA school and he did ok.

I would go for Gore, the Big Sky is more similar to the Southland in terms of level. the Sun Belt had 5 teams inside the top 100 the past 2 seasons.

Also, I'd like to state for the record, that I don't think it's any of the people I mentioned (Rouse of course we know has taken a job).
