Soccer Citowicki leaving for Wazzu?

wow...yikes. when you have a successful program you need to do everything you can to keep it that way when a coach leaves. quick but thorough search, investment in the program, manage the time with out a coach. this is more of an example of what not to do,

Especially when part of the reason for leaving was lack of facility upgrades.

Has anybody confirmed any of this or just rumors but waiting this long to name a coach seems something is off, any alumni or hiring committee members have anything to say on this

Hopefully so! But unfortunately most 2026 and 27s are committed. The portal is will be massive for the future.

The only ones in the photo that had to show commitment to the Griz were Lucy and J because they were the only ones offered somewhere else to go to (WSU). Perhaps a new freshman too. Several other of the girls called Chris after Kyle’s tweet and asked to go with him to WSU, but weren’t offered to join them. Those girls (and parents) were willing to go to Pullman… (funny since some now talk about importance of commitment and how classless it was to leave the program with so few players.)

I agree that J should be named interim at this point, but he needs to get the girls training regardless of official title or not. That ice cream social has been the only time the team got together this semester… no lifting, no conditioning and no soccer yet. NCAA allows 8 hours a week at this point and none of it was set up for them last week. Hopefully they have a practice schedule and times for other training moving forwards.

Yes- love the commitment of the group and the ice cream social- but please tell me they are doing the NCAA 8HRs team work for strength & conditioning as well? We are 4 weeks out from full 20-HRs/Spring season start.

Both J and Chris are at ECNL games in Seattle to recruit this weekend. Awkward?

A parent of a Griz player told me they have done nothing except for that social as of 2 days ago. No soccer. No lifting. No conditioning. The 8 hours weren’t utilized at all.

There is no reason that they shouldn’t have times set up with the strength coach at least. The ball was completely dropped.

Why would it be awkward that J and Chris are at the same place? they are friends and still talk… bet they shared at least one meal together this weekend
 
School started back on 01/15 and the team hadn’t planned on anything till a week after school started back. If you don’t believe me ask the current players for a print off of their practice / work out from team works. Also the S&C coach is terrible, he only follows the strength and conditioning app on his tablet.

Kent promised 8 years ago to upgrade the soccer facilities and obviously that never happened. UM is an example of everything not to do!

If Kent promotes J to interim HC I hope he’s able to find an Operations coach to help with the admin stuff so he can focus on coaching / recruiting.

Also since we’re struggling to find a coach at a D1 program that wins numerous titles and accolades that should be a massive red flag to the Montana University leadership.

Crazy to see that we only have one competent S&C coach in the department based off all forums. Based on everything I’ve heard, MBB has an absolute weapon at that position.

Wonder why the team has had so many torn acls over the last couple years. S&C coach needs to get with the program. These injuries can be cut down.
