I am no referee as I’m sure the rest of us aren’t but that sure seems like a defensive holding call. You mean when both guys engaged off the line and the offensive guy went down when he disengaged? That would never get called and isn't PI.
Which isn't what happened. There are several videos that show it better. I actually know a few people associated with the NDSU program, and on that play, the kid is literally coached to play for a penalty flag if the corner doesn't bite on the end around. Heck, the NDSU kid didn't even try to sell it until the play was over.I am no referee as I’m sure the rest of us aren’t but that sure seems like a defensive holding call.

ARTICLE 6. DEFENSIVE HOLDING
It is a foul for defensive holding if:
- a defensive player tackles or holds any opponent other than a runner, except as permitted in Article 5.
- during a punt, field goal attempt, or Try-kick attempt, B1 grabs and pulls an offensive player out of the way, allowing B2 to shoot the gap (pull-and-shoot) in an attempt to block the kick, except if B1 is advancing toward the kicker.”
I've seen that argument made. Was it a hold or was it a good block? I don't see him holding on to anything. I see a DB keeping his position and a TE losing his footing, but I don't see the DB holding on to anything illegally there.2:15:24 dude gets grabbed and falls down… ruined the whole play. With that being said what the hell was that play anyways.
Yeah I’m no referee but as a biased fan that looked like hold but who knows. I also think if they called this then WaGris might’ve killed the guy. Gub gets held all the time and we all know tons of offensive holding never gets called… but in that case it wouldn’t have changed the game like the NDSU UM holding call would’ve.I've seen that argument made. You've mentioned to me before that you know an offensive lineman that is an FCS level player. Ask him if that was holding. I'm not being snippy, I'd love to hear his thoughts.
Also, if we are all honest, refs could call holding on at least half the plays in a game if they wanted. (this wasn't one of them, though). They try to only do it if it actually effected the play. Go look at Gubner's jersey against SDSU in the national championship. He was obviously being held a LOT or a jersey doesn't tear like that. We aren't out here complaining.
Yea, I just don't see the hold. I see good coverage. The DB/LB still has a right to his position, and they were keeping their position without grabbing at all, in my view. They don't just have to move out of the way, the TE needed to make a move and he just didn't even attempt to actually make a move and get open, he just kind of ran into the coverage and fell down.Yeah I’m no referee but as a biased fan that looked like hold but who knows. That's some classic loser bub whining right there. Lil brother strikes again!Well for starters your WR (bergen threw a ball that was tipped into the hands of a receiver.
Dude the te got held so hard that he fell down… I don’t care who you root for, that was an obvious call.

You're wasting your time talking basic football to a troll. It wasn’t holding. The TE was blocking.
Honest to God, he's not trolling. I'm not saying he is right at all, but he believes it. We talked a bit, I know some people he knows and where he is from. Just young and hyper biased. You're wasting your time talking basic football to a troll.
It was also a free play for Bergen. That was one of the smartest plays of the year. The cats would have put Bergen at qb.That's some classic loser bub whining right there. Lil brother strikes again!
Yea if anything, it’s OPI.It wasn’t holding. The TE was blocking.
Hey, I'm appreciating the weak barbs. I think they are going with the flow of the much chiller egriz scene lately. After reading some incredibly weak barbs and some piss poor rationale
Yup.Yea if anything, it’s OPI.
The TE was the one who tried to rip through and throw Walker down; it just backfired on the TE
I said, at 8-4, the Cats weren't very good last season. Are you saying that 8-4 and loss of the first playoff game at home, is what you consider a good season? However, I had first asked why the Cats would be better this year. You and others have not been able to say why the Cats would be better this season. Someone said new OC/DC's might make them better. I'm not looking for "might" stuff. Explain why the Cats will be better this season, and provide specific support. Otherwise, quit wasting our time.Maybe I misunderstood your point. I thought you said the Cats weren't good last season, and they're going to be worse in 2024? If that's the case, they should lose at least four regular season games, correct?
Your o-line is small. Do any top FCS teams have o-lines that small? You should check out the MSU OL in 22. They had just lost Kidd, Tuiasosopo, Redd, and Session. Guess what… they broke almost all rushing records the next year. Goes to show how talented the 2s are. This year the line should be Moore (6’5” 306), Wehr (6’4” 292), Sain (6’4” 292), Perkins (6’ 282), Reed (6’3” 277), then transfers- Samora Ezekiel (North Texas so. 6’2” 270) and Dylan Rollins (6’6” 295 4 years of eligibility)… and I didnt name two other redshirt sophomores who are 6’4” 290+.
Yes the 3 transfers hurt but this should be the best OL MSU has had since I can remember. So many starts for this squad and most aren’t seniors. I would love to go through all positions and explain the depth… I will say the only position where I sense a slight lack of depth is at LB.
You should look at the final FCS poll. That will help you. UM was better than Idaho or MSU. Idaho was better than MSU. All of them, including UM, were better than NAU.I do. But I also think the Griz were better than NAU so I might be nuts.
