Let's see your preseason polls

You just proved our own point… you can have a rough day and if you watched the Idaho game, the cats had a bad game plan and Idaho had one of the best game plans I’ve ever seen.
We know catz were not better that day and you admitted UI has better coaching which is not saying much vs the drunks.
So what makes you believe catz “were better than Idaho”?

All year, Idaho had better coaching, better players, better scheme, better O, better D, better SPs. But the bubs were the better team. You can believe it because the bubs say it.

Better defense and equally talented offense, fully had the ability to hang with them. They just played really good and our kicked missed lots of fg.

So no objective metrics, just your subjective guesses? Guess that’s par for bubz.
Who had the better D? Look at common opponents. UI actually kept it close vs The Griz while The Griz absolutely demolished the bubbies.
Equal on O? How do you figure? Certainly not at QB and WRs. I think Woods was a better RB too. UI had talented O players go up or go to NFL. The bub talent (if any) likely went to the bar or rodeo

The gris played significantly better against the cats than idaho. Idaho was the moment that got actual momentum for the gris. UI had 3 very talented players but outside of that they weren’t incredible. Cats had better lines but couldn’t get the ball all day. Woods is good but he went 20 for 64 yards and 1 td, Davis went 11 for 84 and 1 td and Hatton had only 4 receptions that day. Cats only had 23 rushing attempts which was just over 1/2 of a normal game. Literally TOP was 41 to 18, hard to score when you have the ball less than half than the other team.

Wow, thanks for this. Didn’t realize the catz got dominated so brutally. Obviously, UI was the much better team last year. The score made it look closer than it really was, and it should have been a blowout like the Brawl

If the bubs had such a great defensive line, why couldn't they get off the field?

The Cats were better than every team they played. The Cats just had a bunch of bad days on the same days that the opponents had great games. This was mostly due to misfortune. The Griz did well only because they had 2 players good enough to start for the Cats. NDSU surprised the Cats by coming to play them in Bozeman, instead of in Fargo. Caught the Cats off guard.

Well that and putting a tall guy to jump up in the air on an extra point. Pure savage game planning right there.

I wonder what would have happened if the bubs started all their backups. You know, played their best players.

It's tough for the Cats when they have to play, they tend to get exposed in the play-offs when they can't just not show up for a scheduled game. On paper though...buckle up, they are awesome.

Idaho went 6-15 on 3rd down. The problem was the Vandals went 3-4 on huge 4th downs which I believe were mainly passing plays. Cats were missing Danny U, our best LB, which left our LB with no depth. Definitely hurt the defense but definitely wasn’t an excuse to lose. Brenden Hall also missed two field goals which when you lose by 3, it was the difference.

Huh. Sounds to me as though the difference was Idaho was just better.

Nonsense! Bobs are so deep at every position (likely the deepest team in all of Gallatin County), they should have put in Stank or Snork at LB and the D would've been just as good or better without skipping a beat.
