2013 edition of the Brawl of the Wild in Bozeman. I'll try to get the 2014 night game posted soon as well.

Took a deep dive to find this, but I thought we all could use it.
Had a few minutes this morning, so I made the deep dive again. So many great games, great stories.

bump.

Needed some FB. Watched 2021 playoff game against EWU ... Griz put it away in the 3rd quarter, final 57-41. Got outgained by that Barriere offense, but Special Teams plays and key defensive turnarounds did it for the Griz.

FWIW: Barriere is playing in the USFL but has been hampered by injuries.

Thanks for posting these, I spent some afternoons in the bleachers at Dornblazer at the tail end of Coach Donovan's time with the Griz. Those shots of the "stadium" bring back some memories and are a good reminder of how far the program has come.
Picked an older game more or less at random ... and lucked onto a classic 2009 playoff game against App State back when Armanti Edwards was the guy. Right down to the last play ... literally. Whew!

Sucked myself into the Appy game, now it's 1:30 am. What a player Chase was - and Shann. Soundly beaten in yardage and TOP (thanks to Edwards), we found a way to win and the D withstood 92 plays. It may have been a factor 6 days later when the D wore down the second half.

It was nasty, a Mickey got me through it. Fortunately on the east side we were somewhat out of the wind.

Amazing performance by Reynolds. I seem to recall the announcers saying he had over 200 yards of offense by himself. Assumed that was rushing, but actually it included 29 yards on two receptions. Still, what other Griz back has stacked up 193 yards of rushing offense in a game?

Here is the 2009 game against Stephen F Austin (the one with the 10 turnovers)

Had forgotten about this blowout.

Small highlight: Two different Griz DEs got interception by faking rush and then dropping into coverage at exactly the right time.

I do believe Chris was the MVP of this game, correct?

I’ve told this story on here a couple times. I had seats in the NEZ for this one, up from AZ for the game. DIDN’T come up for the SDSU miracle comeback, came up for this blowout, then DIDN’T come up for the App State game the next weekend. Yeah, FML.
Anyways, in our seats for the start of the game and the guy in the row in front of us has a flask full of homemade “rootbeer schnaaps”. Says he’ll pass it around every time the Griz score. Well as is well documented, thanks to Chris’s heroics in Reds the night before it was 38-0 at halftime and we were all shitfaced. I ask the guy “so how do you make the schnaaps?” He says “well, I start with Everclear…” Fuuuuuuck. Thought we were drinking 40 proof and it was 180 proof…no wonder I couldn’t feel my tongue at halftime….

Went to the Natty that year and watched ‘Nova steamroll Bobby’s team in the 2nd half…

Just saw someone uploaded this gem about a month ago. Sadly I wasn't at this game, but I heard it was incredible! Unfortunately, it ended up being the highest high the program experienced for a long time after this.

Still watching this, but paused for minor chores. Figured I might as well bump the thread to get us thru now and the first real game.
