I’m sorry, I guess my misunderstood BH’s mandate??? Am I not allowed to have a differing opinion on the tactics that were used by someone with an obvious agenda or am I not allowed to have a problem with the false narrative of her agenda? Am I only to disagree with what AG1 did but not with Lisa Davies slanderous attack on a good man? Because I didn’t get that from either Bobby or Kent’s statements.GGNez said:Good morning, all y'all. To those who understand my message (are picking up what I'm laying down; smelling what I'm stepping in and otherwise on board with keeping Griz Nation up to the standards of the BH mandate), thanks for your comments. For those who aren't quite there - make no mistake, I love you all and will just be patient. No judgment or contempt - we can't all be at full swagger right out of the gate.
To quote a wise prognosticator:
We all have a right to our opinions. People have a right to protest peacefully if they want to. That's the freedom that we all enjoy here. It won't change the fact that Hauck is the coach again. Clearly, many of us support Hauck and feel that the protesters are either uninformed or blaming Hauck for an issue that is beyond his scope of control and that he's being treated as a scapegoat.
One of two things will happen:
People will protest, life will go on and the complaints will peter out or remain in the background. Meanwhile, Hauck will demonstrate whether or not he lives up to the reputation the protesters know him by. If players begin getting into more trouble than we've had in recent years, maybe there IS a valid association. I don't think so. I think we will begin winning again. I think the people in opposition to Hauck will help ensure he runs a tighter ship. I think we are about to enjoy an exciting season of football. I think the protesters will be pleasantly surprised that they are wrong.
OR
People will protest and many of you will react. You will criticize the bodies and faces of the women in opposition. You will make personal attacks and become bullies. You will follow the sentiment of AG1 and MB by taking the low road. That will validate concerns on the other side and add massive fuel to the fire. I will make us all look bad and take away from the reason we all love the Griz.

GGNez said:Some of you need to ask yourselves what it actually means to support Bobby Hauck and to be a true part of Griz Nation. While there were several legitimate, well-worded posts in opposition to the article referenced in the Kaimin thread, there were also the few loaded with hyperbole and oozing with contempt. Contempt for people on the left side of the political spectrum (as thousands of Griz fans, supporters and boosters are); hateful-sounding words about those who opposed Hauck's return. A slanted newspaper article is unfortunate and unfair, immoral even. Is it reason to start refering to a woman as fat; to classify everyone associated with journalism as incompetent and hateful? Some people are clutching your grudges from the past and doing exactly what you say the opposition is doing - holding on to anger and hate and not giving BH Round 2 a chance. You think that hating anyone who opposes Hauck is a way to support him. It's not. Here. Let Bobby tell you:
You only get one chance to make a second first impression.
Everyone has an opinion and they’re not afraid to share, and that’s ok. What’s not ok...Miss Davey had some commentary. Everyone has a right to their opinion and she should not have been attacked for sharing those opinions.
Respect is a core value. We’re going to all treat each other with dignity and respect around here.
It’s a core value of this University. It’s a core value of this football program.
It has to be a core value within the fan base.
We’re all together in this, it’s Griz Nation it’s not football players and football coaches, it’s Griz Nation.
Everybody has to buy into that.
That’s a mandate from all involved. ~ Bobby Hauck

She is absolutely allowed to give her opinion on any subject she wishes. I will back her right to do so until the day I leave this world. I also have the right to counter her opinion with facts, do I not?
The fact that we cannot have civil discourse in this country anymore is, in my opinion, one of the biggest problems we are currently facing as a nation. Everyone digs in with their opinions and when faced with the facts instead of accepting that they might be wrong they either dig in farther or claim victim hood. I’m sorry, but facts don’t care about your feelings. As long as we continue down this path where we are not allowed to disagree and discuss because someone will get their feelings hurt I fear we are headed to a our own demise as eventually no issues will come to resignation.
I don’t follow nor do I agree with your ‘either or’ assessment of the situation. I can disagree with the way Lisa Davies went about attacking Hauck and her assessment of the supposed ‘rape culture’ that he supposedly helped cultivate (all unsubstantiated mind you) while at the same time disagreeing with AG1’s response.
If you don’t agree with that, than I’m sorry, but YOU are part of the problem.

You must have skipped this part of my post: "While there were several legitimate, well-worded posts in opposition to the article referenced in the Kaimin thread..."
You absolutely have the right to disagree with Lisa, the Kaimin or whomever. You have a right to voice your opposition. You have a right to dislike people you don't agree with. You also have a right to make things ugly and to exacerbate the problem by making personal attacks (that are irrelevant to the issue) on people you don't agree with - but I'm suggesting that Griz Nation is classier than that. You don't even have to agree with me but, fair warning, you then run the risk of being wrong, so...
Oh, and...call me a heathen if you want, but I prefer "Merry Grizmas"

Honest question. Are you friends with Lisa Davies?

Overly broad accusatory generalizations without actually listening to other opinions, which may or may not be valid, is part of the problem.

I was told that Davey and Hauck talked. I also talked to her.
Davey's stuff is long on assertions and weak on facts or support. It's largely opinion, myth and agenda.
