I really like a lot of our coaches and think they've done a great job.

But if Bobby is really gone after this year, I hope Haslam (or whoever is the AD lol) lets the new head coach build the staff he wants that doesn't include any demands for holdovers he doesn't want to keep.

No hold overs. That, my friends, is a flawed strategy. It immediately creates an "us vs them mentality among the coaches.

Besides... hold overs often don't work - see BH holding Germer from Stitt's staff. Total Bust.
Holdovers make sense when the head coach leaves due to immense success, and it's clear the new coach wants to continue the culture by keeping as many of the same guys as possible. This is what happened when Pflugrad took over here, Thompson took over in Sac, and when Vigen took over out east.

You don't want holdovers from a failed staff that lost their team and have shown they can't fix basic issues after a half decade of service.

Good point - was just thinking in current Griz context...

Yeah, in our context, there's no reason to keep anyone. I keep going back to what Brint said on the GFP about how almost all of these guys came here after being fired from their previous jobs for lack of success/performance. We need a hungry, up and coming coaching staff.

Agreed. I may have posted this before: You know how Nashville is where musicians' careers are born, and Vegas/reservation casinos is where their careers go to die? Our staff seems like The Gin Blossoms playing at the casino in Worley, ID to turn a buck. They play the hits, but they don't sound the same, and they don't hit like they used to.

He made Stitt keep Gregorak and look how that turned out. Ended up dividing the locker room.
