Holdovers make sense when the head coach leaves due to immense success, and it's clear the new coach wants to continue the culture by keeping as many of the same guys as possible. This is what happened when Pflugrad took over here, Thompson took over in Sac, and when Vigen took over out east.SoldierGriz said:uofmman1122 said:I really like a lot of our coaches and think they've done a great job.
But if Bobby is really gone after this year, I hope Haslam (or whoever is the AD lol) lets the new head coach build the staff he wants that doesn't include any demands for holdovers he doesn't want to keep.
No hold overs. That, my friends, is a flawed strategy. It immediately creates an "us vs them mentality among the coaches.
Besides... hold overs often don't work - see BH holding Germer from Stitt's staff. Total Bust.
You don't want holdovers from a failed staff that lost their team and have shown they can't fix basic issues after a half decade of service.
