...I wouldn't let Bobby n friends finish out the season...interim coach would give us
time to recruit a coach....someone said Justin Green...I think the team would rally
around him to finish out the season....wishful thinking but why prolong it...cut it
down and say goodbye!

We need a complete purging of the current staff. I have nothing against Green, but he is the recruiting coordinator, and our recruiting has not been good.

My answer is to conduct a LEGITIMATE national coaching search, and hire a young, energetic, charismatic, FBS assistant coach with desires to become an FBS head coach, and understands that turning a once-dominant Montana football program around will allow him to get a head job with an FBS team.

Griz fans need to understand that an FCS head coaching is just a temporary topping-point job, and not a destination job. NDSU understands this, but many Griz fans don't get it.

Is FCS head coach a typical stepping stone for a FBS head coaching position? I can think of few but it seems that they hire from the coordinator positions in the FBS way more.

With the transfer portal a good coach can do a lot in one year. Think Idaho and Jason Eck

You apparently didn’t attend the UNC game in Stitt’s tenure. This was eerily reminiscent of that game.

I was at that UNC game and wholeheartedly agree. This NAU game had the same flavor. The only thing missing was the players jovially laughing and goofing off on the sideline as they got their asses whipped by a big sky conference cellar dweller. We got beat by a cellar dweller this week, and may not beat ISU….we are that bad. I canceled my hotel reservations for homecoming and won’t be attending this year. I’ve seen enough, and can’t sit through another performance like ferries or butler. Those were painful enough to witness.

I threw in the towel at the end of the first quarter. I was fed up with the coachIng, poor performance, and generally being lied to about the the progress of the team.
Bobby lost me at that point. My clarion moment. Changed channels and watched some real football. Haven't been to WGS in 13 years. Some good memories, yes. But that was then, this is now.

You are correct.

...and yet, it is a way to get there.

Hungry is the key. Fishing is fun.

I would nominate you, but you don’t check any of the boxes. Literally none.

...not disagreeing but my point was Hauck should be let go immediately...why let him stay
around....to be honest we are going to struggle the rest of season...teams know we are beatable.
... players will lose confidence in the coaching...if they hire a interim the players will circle the
wagons and fight against the odds....this will give us more time and exposure for a new coach...
not to mention future recruiting once a new coach is hired.....

....obviously this my opinion and not sure how this plays out with his contract with UM....

Just like another clueless hack wannabee internet quip maven

Responding to every post is a sane approach.

The Griz looking so bad Saturday was the equivalent of him winning the superbowl. Today is his victory lap. As I had said, congrats to him I guess.

Serious question: what did you think the board would be like after that game?

He isn't the only one...

Things are bad dude. Really bad. It's OK to admit it. This is a FAN(ATIC) message board.

Absolutely correct. Hauck left the Griz high and dry to head to UNLV. Was lobbying to get his job back when Stitt failed. This is karma. Cannot defend him anymore after yesterday. He needs to go and go now. His defense is downright embarrassing. His defensive philosophy and the 3-3-5 are utter garbage. No size, plenty of speed with linebackers and that is about it. Offense is simply putrid. Both lines. Putrid. His press conference. Putrid. Montana deserves so much better. Hauck’s unwillingness to bring in new coaches who can recruit and relate to kids will be his demise. He is the problem. The end.

..Griz haven't really been good since they fired Plugrad...so I think hes been right...suck it up
and demand better...when we beat Huskies they went nuts and got a new coach...last I checked
there doing quite well...ranked #7....we need change to bring us back!

Elrod,
I have gone after T and Long so many times it is painful. Unfortunately, Hauck needs to go. This team is bad. Really bad. How does he not have a O line, D line and QB after this many years at the helm. How? Embarrassing performance yesterday. His ego, failure to adapt and stubbornness have come home to roost. I feel bad for the kids. They and the fans deserve better. Time to move on and rebuild.

Exactly right. There have been a lot of them through the years who would rather be correct than see the Griz win. I think a lot of them have been him. They get super excited when the Griz lose so they can do the “told ya” thing.

This is just my observation based on almost 20 years reading eGriz.

Ya, I don't know you or the bandwagon you are driving. I don't support Hauck. Definitely don't support a know-it-all celebrating the Griz demise, you had a 50/50 shot at being right, good for ya

I call B.S. on your 50/50 comment. I have been an advocate for replacing Hauck for two years. I'm not celebrating our demise, I'm advocating for a change which should have occurred after last season. you just can't deal with someone who is able to make a prospective analysis which later proves to be true.

I was pissed they hired him. Ive never gone after anyone for critiquing him either. You just seem a lil too enthusiastic about it all

Oh, I've agreed it was really bad. Of course that was a terrible game for everyone. Playing, watching, coaching, anything. That sucked. I'm not sugar coating that. But I'm going to retain some hope that the ship can be righted. I'm not going to start skipping games, so I'm going to keep rooting for them to pull out a win every week. Otherwise I might as well not go.
