Coach Delaney has done a good job, especially with the present circumstances. The Griz are a very good team and could very well win the remainder of their games. Throwing stones at the coach or any of the players doesn't help the program.
Doing a good job, 2-3 so far for the season, arguably losses from inadequate coaching, and a rating at 126 in turnovers, with some complicity applied to coaching. You are absolutely correct, the Griz are a very good team, however just might be missing a seasoned coaching staff, and will likely NOT go undefeated the rest of the season.
Coach Delaney, is a very good coach, however the jury is still out if he is a good head coach.
Unfortunately, coach Delaney was awarded the head job, because the president of the university used his leverage instead of using his head, not unusual for a wannabe intellect, posing as if he knows something about athletics.
Think about it, Coach Delaney whom coach for decades, never elevated to a head job at the FCS level, even if it was at his own discretion, brought out of retirement to fill a job made available by an incompetent university president, how could that job be fill with anyone else other that Delaney, or for that matter anyone left from the remaining coaching staff.
What head coach out there during this fiasco, would even consider the position, they just fired the 2011 Head Coach Of The Year, job security in that job is dubious to say the least.
Now, I'm sure that individuals as yourself and the likes of Players Rep would denigrate me as a bad fan, however, I will match by loyalty to the Griz and the program with anybody, especially Player Rep.
I've been a Golden Grizzlies, since it's adaptation with the GAA, I've been a season ticket holder, since Dornblaser, I bought six season tickets, when we couldn't fill Washington Griz, I was one of the original members of Don Reeds QB club, I filled out a credit app with the rest of the QB to assure the guarantee for the Griz first playoff game, I help prepare the field, with heaters and tarps for preparation of playoff games, I have attended more games than missed home and away for more years than I care to admit. And I will continue to do all that I can, not because I have to, because Grizzlie athletics is a passion.
If you think my rant about the coaching is defamation of the them, well you are wrong, you should have attended the breakfasts that Don Reed was plummeted by members of the QB club, and he understood that is the previledge of a fan that cares and a passion.
So grow a pair, It's the fault of president Engstrom folly, that has created my anger, and the anger of many and it's OK to have an opinion of coach Delaney's precarious situation.
