Sounds good to me.

Yep kinda figured that would be your response .
Leaders solve problems , followers just say "who cares "

Leaders put things in perspective. Griz players will not kneel as they aren't even on the field.

Other athletes who choose to kneel should do so. I don't care. I also don't care if they stand or do hand stands.

But, thanks for lesson in leadership. Appreciate it.

It doesn't need to be handled. The players have never been near the field for the anthem. Have people just forgotten how the lead up works?

A couple of us said the same thing.

Is this thing on....?

I would bet my life savings griz already kneel during the national anthem. And sit. Maybe stretch. Even probably piss.

The audacity!

Classy.

...I'm going to part ways here..I do care about the slow erosion of our country and values that seem to hold
us together as a country slowly fades...when statues are torn down and building looted and sprayed with fascist
graffiti..I thought we were better than this.....now many don't really care if people stand or sit for the flag and anthem...
...past generations safeguarded our anthem/flag and now we could piss it away...once the cancer starts
it will spread! ...what would be next?

Probably more doom and gloom. Sky is falling. Up a famous creek without a paddle. Falling off a cliff...

Country will be fine. It's an election year with a deeply divided electorate fueled by a media frenzy.

It's not the first time the Nation has experienced this type of passions and it won't be the last. We are still an epoch experiment here in America.

Every single European Nation thought we'd fail after the Revolution. John Adams was essentially ignored while trying to negotiate commerce deals, treaties and alliances in the years immediately after.

Uniting sovereign Colonies, Slavery, Civil War, World Wars, Civil Rights, Suffrage, Cold War, Terrorism...

We'll survive...

...I hope you're right I used to think the same way but I think there is some structural cracks.....
.I will check back with you in November after the election..

I can't wait for the outrage.

The NCAA will allow student-athletes in all sports to wear social justice statements on their uniforms, including replacing last name with words to celebrate or memorialize people, events or other causes.

None of us like what's happening. But isn't one of our country's values -- hell, our most IMPORTANT value -- that all men are created equal? If some perceive that's not occurring, I dare say it's not only their right to protest that, but their obligation as a citizen.

Values should not be about symbols, like flags and statues. Values should be lived.

...fair enough...but when properties and businesses are looted and burn to the ground because people say they aren’t treated equal...what is our obligation as citizens...just wondering where the line is drawn?

The Constitution and US values don't give people and protestors the right to infringe the rights of others and destroy their property or the property of the US government.

What have you and your company done to improve the lives of people who believe they have been discriminated against? Have you stepped up your actions now that it's become clear that a lot of people in the US think racial issues and discrimination still exist to a signficant extent?

Do you believe them, or think they are exaggerating them?

What are the racial issues and discriminations that you see?

I’d say this issue is rather clear: The line is drawn between peaceful protesting (such as kneeling during the anthem) and destruction of property. One is acceptable (as noted above, I’d even claim encouraged); the other is obviously not.

Yes pr, the protestors have a legitimate reason for their protests against racial discrimination.

Again, what are the racial issues and discriminations that you believe exist? Just asking.

...but we all know this isn't going to stop with the flag and anthem kneeling...the mob's appetite will want more!....maybe
your head!

I see that players, coaches and refs are kneeling in the NBA. Looks like most everyone will kneel. Most everyone watching either doesn't really know why they're kneeling, like me; or, while sympathetic, isn't going to do anything, like Everett, I assume; or opposes kneeling and whatever they're trying to call attention to. I probably couldn't kneel now even if I wanted to, because I'd need help getting up.

...to me that's the magic question what are they really kneeling for..social unrest has been going on
since the beginning of time between races..I guess in my mind who is the puppet master...
most professional sport guys make millions of dollars playing sports in this great country...how many
are forking over their money to the hood...how many are drawing attention to black on black killings in Chicago? ..
why pick on the anthem/flag?...are they really kneeling because of its founding's of white guys...just wondering?

How about this idea? Play the anthem after the game when most of the players are already kneeling in the center of the field. Two birds, one stone.

Others have hinted at this solution, but I’ll state it succinctly: Just stop playing the national anthem at all sporting events. It isn’t played before concerts, movies, plays, etc. So why before sporting events? With the possible exception of Olympic sporting events or intracountry competitions such as futbol, sports have no more connection to national identity or military history than do the other events mentioned above. Simple solution. What have I missed here? What are your rationales to the contrary?

I say play the anthem. People can do what they want. Players or whatever. Don’t know what the big deal is.

I doubt that many on the board know as much as I do about racial discrimination. Happy to discuss or debate with you.

I’m sure Dutch will debate with you, his father was full Irish and his mum was mixed race. Oh wait, I forgot you had him banned.

I didn’t have him banned. Just started a thread. So having Irish blood makes one knowledgeable racial discrimination in America today? I am sure the BLM leadership would be impressed with that.

You sure have a lot of views for a new poster. Ha.
