Will Griz players kneel during the national anthem?

Soldier. You know I respect you. But, it does matter. Plenty of my military friends have made that clear.

We run in very different circles. Most I know couldn't care less. A few absolutely despise those kneeling...

I am in the couldn't care less crowd.

This topic is simply toxic. There is very little middle ground it seems.

Personally, I don’t care who kneels. It has zero impact on me. It doesn’t impact my Family or well being. It doesn’t directly impact the men I lead in hide positions or forward operating bases in complete shit holes around the globe. It doesn’t prevent them from excelling. Most of them could give 2 shits about kneeling.

It reminds me of when don’t ask, don’t tell was being repealed. Oh, the doom and gloom. Remember?

Most in the service gave 2 shits about that as well. It just didn’t / doesn’t matter. Over-hyped, over-covered, and over politicized.

Who cares.

As a retired Naval Officer, I agree 100% with Soldier’s post, even the DADT stuff....totally over-politicized BS that doesn’t mean anything at the end of the day.

It is not legal or possible to start a game without the national anthem. Adrenaline will not peak before the ending notes of the national anthem.

I'm confused. Are you suggesting the First Amendment doesn't guarantee the freedom of expression? And if you're suggesting that freedom doesn't apply to the flag, may I suggest familiarizing yourself with West Virginia State Bd. of Educ. v. Barnette, which codifies that very issue.

Maybe they're just saying that although we're taught that we're unified and treated equally, we're really not.
