Why does UM have so many clueless and unknowledgeable fans?

Hoops I always give you shit. But I actually have a serious question for you.

I have a theory that I often get crap for. I think Bobby and his staff have historically put depth players in games they feel they have in hand, and the staff purposely puts them in difficult positions or scenarios to see how they handle it. Sometimes it lets teams get back into games. But when they do it correctly….They get deep playoff runs.

Now obviously not talking about giving up onside kicks…but. You think there’s any truth to that?
Maybe, but don't know. Never looked at that much.

Yeah you have huge readership you have almost 220 views on a thread you started 27 hours ago. You have 50 threads that have ZERO comments in response. You are a legend in your own mind! Fraud
What does the Reaction Score mean? I have about 6,000. Who has more? I don't know. Just asking.

What does a win in a football game mean? The Griz have 10 and the bubs have 8. Who has more? I don’t know, just asking.

Realistically I’ll give the bubs only one loss because let’s be honest, any fcs team was gonna loose to Oregon. There other loss was to South Dakota State in double OT. That game was very good and the team was still trying to find their identity after loosing Tommy. If they played SDSU again they would most likely beat them by at least 2 scores. Now I feel like there the team to beat after shutting down all of there opponents(mercyhurst was only 17 tho). They have also played significantly better against teams that we’ve played so I guess time will tell how good they are.

Spot on mthoopsfan. Look at Indiana against Penn State, 0-6 in the Big Ten. Penn State almost pulled off the upset and Indiana barely pulled out the game on a last second TD reception. Great college football teams will have stinkers during a season.
As will athletes in any sport. Good post.

Discuss. This thread could be a Who’s Who of clueless and unknowledgeable fans.
This thread like many on here has been totally derailed.

Here are my thoughts on your question.

When Wa-Griz opened in 86 Griz football games started to be more popular. That coupled with tenure ofDon Read and his offense, which was explosive in scoring a lot of points made it grow even further.

Once Griz football started rolling you started seeing more and more fans. A high percentage of the new fans know very little about the game.

I’m not sure what the percentage of fans post on eGriz are, myself I post very little. I think I have posted about 50 times between this username and my last one.

Many of the new/social fans think that the Griz should win by 4 or 5 touchdowns every week. That is unrealistic, but during halftime or after the game you will hear a lot of fans whining that the Griz should/need to play better and will tell you what they should have done. Most of the time the ones I hear saying this have never played the game.

I would bet it’s the same for all football teams with large fan bases, when the team doesn’t win by a large margin or if they lose than many fans start saying dumb 💩.

I guess we should just be thankful that we have many clueless and in knowledgeable fans. That means the Griz have a team that is successful.

If Griz football was not successful, those fans would find something else to do.

I agree with your analysis.

Why do you think I finally made an account on here? You are unbearable there and here.
Lol, tell me you have never been to a QB club meeting. There really isn't even that level of interaction, and people are sitting at their tables talking quietly until the actual presentation starts. This is how I know you are completely lying, as the format really doesn't make it possible for ANYONE to be unbearable even if they wanted to.

GTID, you can stop. I asked a serious question. I don’t think everything is peachy all the time. But I understand the game and can see the strength of the team.

Why do so many Griz fans think that top teams dominate every game? They don’t. Jeez, look at NDSU the last 2 weeks. Why do so many Griz fans think close or tough wins spell disaster?

I am not butchibg at all. Just pointing out reality and looking forward. The neggies are the ones bitching. I don’t take advice. I give it. Don’t I get an opinion?

Are you an everyone gets a ribbon for their opinion type of guy?
I'll give you some advice--starting taking some advice! Some more advice: stop using the word "if" so much. If only this, if only that, blah blah blah. Some more advice: try some humility. You don't know all there is to know about football.

And even more advice: stop recounting all your endless qualifications to be the king of egriz football commentaries. Anyone who has been on egriz more than a short minute already knows your enormous qualifications to provide the ultimate in football advice. I know your resume better than I know my own. It gets tedious to keep reading it, to find the occasional useful nugget of info you might bring up.

Haha exactly. He doesn't have a clue and spouts off ignorantly. Classic!

Everybody had clueless fans.
You should not have to have a successful Doctoral Thesis on football to be a fan
Correct. But you also don't HAVE to be an ignorant fan spewing negativity constantly. Or you can, but should be prepared to get called out. Because its a bad look. To each their own.

Does everyone have a clueless fan that has been posting under like 80 different accounts for 20 years? He thinks he is being slick by creating new accounts but it is obvious who it is by the obsession with Bobby Hauck with homophobic undertones.

Being the sky is falling, how about this, The Griz team has been over here reading all these posts and they are just screwing with everybody.
