Why do coaches want to blow season by not listening to the fans?

His QB have been drop downs. He didn't develop them.
They were further developed after they arrived and were coached by Griz coaches. My understanding is that the qb's of the majority of top teams are transfers. I just eyeballed an article on likely SEC starters and the majority are transfers. So, are you saying the majority of top teams including SEC teams don't develop their qb's?

Other than Ah Yat not sure he has been invested in developing QBs
Bergquist, Selle were frosh. Again, development continues every year. My view is saying Hauck never developed a qb is just plain stupid. And in recent years, the majority of FBS guys are transfer, I read.

I think sometimes we have to realize that the “development” of some QBs can only go so far. We’ve seen it through the decades with people wanting to see the hometown hero/favorite get his shot, but often, it comes down to them just not being a good fit or just not being a DI caliber QB. I honestly don’t put that on the coaching staff.

Yes i was talking about this time around. Has really been my only complaint.

Why is it a complaint? The majority of schools have transfer qb's. Many of the best UM qb's in the past 25 years have been transfers. Ochs, Disney, Miller, Swogger, Sneed, Johnson, Humphrey, to name a few.

Because i would love to see a three or four year starter. There out there mellot is proof of that. I know not any easy task with the portal but maybe ah yat is the one.

Got it. I'd rather have Ochs and Miller. I forgot the Great Falls kid who transferred from Wyoming too, and played when Edwards was playing.

Football games are won or lost at the line of scrimmage
Griz O line did well at pass protection but did not open holes or block well on screens. Also, Davis O line was guilty of holding many times with no calls...many good open field tackles by Griz secondary after Davis O line opened holes that avoided long gainers ,otherwise score worse. Back to blocking/tackling drills.

Brandon Neill was totally underutilized; he was better than Edwards, but his daddy didn't buy the first sprinturf.
My goodness, your recent takes are salty.

You think D1 football coaches determine who starts and plays based on financial contributions of their parents?

It's not junior high football or youth baseball...

D1 coaches HAVE to win, first and foremost.

BTW - my recollection is JE led the Griz to 14-straight wins including a national championship. So, yeah - he was pretty good at football.

And lost 3 of his last 4 games including the streak-ending home loss to MSDUI, which was one of the worst QB performances in the history of the Griz. And yet Glenn would not put Neill in. So you figure it out.

I figure Glenn was a national-championship winning D1 football coach who knew what he was doing...but, Kem gonna Kem.

I think the point that was being made is Mellott is a once in a generation talent, especially from Montana. Its so much easier to say fuck it and get a transfer or drop down than develop a QB at the risk of sucking for 2-3 years. The last good QB I remember from MSU was DeNarius McGhee. Before that, probably Travis Lulay. And I agree that KAY is our guy. He plays with a lot of heart. I can't remember the last time a redshirt freshman saw the field on a somewhat regular basis.

that Prukup (spelling?) was pretty good. 100% agree not easy finding Mellott's out there but it can happen. gotta be another Super Dave out there.....I know it is a different world in college football with the portal but can always hope.....and yes I know what the say about hope in one hand and shit in the other...
