Personally, after reading through everything, I think if Vigen is truly interested, UM would be hard pressed to find a better man, mentor, recruiter or coach for that matter. Don't let lakes fool you. This guy was HUGE for NDSU in recruiting and by the time he was finished, he lead one of the most balanced, efficient, and disciplined offenses in the FCS. You can take all the high paced shot you want. 2013 was a thing of beauty seeing a team take them ball and methodically working the ball down the field , enforcing your will and literally wearing the opponents down to nothing. Was the defense great? No doubt, maybe the best ever in the FCS, but to be fair it is pretty easy to play defense when your offense has control of the ball for 2/3 of the game.

I hope Vigen gets a head coaching opportunity, just hope it isn't at a program like Montana, where he would win and would easily compete with NDSU.

Again this is just my opinion but this guy is good , very good. All things considered, I think he did a fantastic job at Wyoming this year considering A.) he is at fing Wyoming and B.) He was trying to convert spread players to play in this power offense. Pull up the video of the K State NDSU last 8 minute plus drive last year. Might be the best offensive play calling I have ever seen in a college football game.

correct me if I'm wrong...and I know someone will...but Bobby wasn't a football coach..anywhere and was given the keys to this program...with no questions asked!! Here we have a D-II coach...with a vision..with an offensive mind set, and has proven that he can win...we would be lucky to get this guy! Coach Liepold(sp) slipped through our fingers....D-III straight to the MAC conference, errrr...coach Kelly...um...D-III to Notre Dame!! You have to admit, the offense of late has been ummmm...predictable...we've had the talent to have very exciting offense's...but no real innovators to use that talent...it would have been interesting to see Pflu coach though, could have been fun to watch, but that was yesterdays news..today is today...do we want fun and exciting wins...or the same ol' run...run....pass that everybdy knew what play was coming next kind of offense?? Coach Reed had a vision...with an offensive mind set, made football fun for the peeps in the stands..hell..won a NC, which brings us back full circle...today, if coach Stitt is our new man in charge, could be fun again!!

You're wrong. Repeating run-run-pass over and over again simply does NOT make it true. I've done the research dozens of times....it just is NOT true. It's like an internet Bigfoot. People SAY they've seen it, but it just doesn't happen.

EWU Game Drive Chart:

P/P/P
P/R/R/P
P/P/P/P/R/R/R/P/P/P/P/P/R/R/(FG)
R/R/R/R/P/P/P
R/R/P
P/P/P/R/R/P
P/P/R/R/R (TD)
P/P/P/P/R/P (FG)
P/P/R (Fumble)
P/P/P/R/R/P/R/R/P (TD)
P (INT)
P/P/P/P

So, 9 of the first ELEVEN plays were pass plays. And 14 of the first 19. Apparently some people just like to bitch.

I know there isn't much use in defending the outgoing coaching staff, but this myth has annoyed the crap out of me too. Good work AZ.

If I was Haslam I would have had the new coach hired. Now I am not Haslam and a few think he is playing stall ball and might just end up with an obscure hire and make us all happy. If so I am happy. BUT after the stall job and we end up with one of the guys we have been chirping about I will wonder about Haslam and nega Royce.
While we are loath to consider, it is also possible he is dealing with a turndown of his first offer - or there is some back and forth going on. I would be surprised if he has not extended an offer by now, but it can take some time for closure.

I for one would still like to see Bobby return. He wants this job, and has a proven track record of success.

If Haslam wants an "offensive minded" coach, let's pull the trigger on Pease. Pease was a finalist when we offered the job to Pflugrad. Many of you claim that he still has interest in our head coaching vacancy. If that is the case, give him the reigns at his alma mater, and let's see what he can do! We can retain Ty and Justin Green, and we are set!

This guy has been an offensive coordinator at both Boise St. and Baylor (2 of the most prolific offenses in recent history). I don't think Florida had the players to run his type of offense (so I will give him a pass there).

Plus, he is now coaching at UW. The majority of the top recruits that we currently have coming in hail from either Washington or Oregon. I think they would gravitate more towards Pease than let's say a Coach Stitt.

A "Montana Guy" - Check
An Offensive Minded Coach - Check
We could potentially retain Coach Ty and Coach Green - Check
Pease would expect to be able to pick his own assistants.

I'm sorry but personally I want a coach who knows the Bigsky, beats the cats, wins conference titles, and can at last make it to the semi's. Stitt seems like a great choice for OC, Tye is already a good DC, and Bobby brings back toughness to the team. I don't want the conversation of Stitt needing 2-3 years to get his people in place. Done that already. If Bobby is still in play and Haslem doesn't hire him IMO we made a mistake. With that said I hope Justin Green is standing on the sidelines with whoever is the head coach.

Stitt is not going to be the OC at UM. He had an opportunity to be the OC at USC under Sark, and turned it down. He's in the mix every year for various FBS head coaching jobs, and probably is this year too (if you believe the internet).
There must be an issue why he never gets these jobs that "he's in the mix every year for various FBS head coaching jobs." Possibly because his only experience above DII is two years as an assistant at Harvard 15 years ago. There's a lot more to running a D1 program; he would be a big risk.

You need to be corrected because you are so full of stitt. Stitt has exactly two years experience above DII and that was 15 years ago as a Harvard assistant. Kelly? He was HC at Grand Valley St. (DII, not DII), for 13 years and after winning three successive NCs, went to Central Michigan for three years (19-16 record), then on to Cincinnati for four years before getting the Notre Dame job. Stitt has little in common with either Kelly or Read, who had been HC at Oregon before coming to UM. A lot of things that work in DII don't in DI and there is a lot to coaching in DI that Stitt has little experience. Like Read, a coach with a lot of FBS experience has a lot to offer at the FCS level.

Hauck? You have to be kidding; he coached at UM, NAU, Colorado, UCLA and Washington before coming to UM as HC. He never coached below D1.

Maybe you could compare Stitt to Joe Glenn, but Joe had a lot of D1 coaching experience (NAU and UM) prior to getting the UM HC job.

Whomever gets the job, I just hope they can figure out when to go for it on 4th down & when to punt, & I pray they have the balls to kick an onsides kick when that's what the situation calls for. Seriously, I hope the candidate brings a lot more to the table than that. But from the gaffs in the 1st game of the season (4th down calls), to the ball shrinkage in the last game, I have been salivating for Delaney's replacement, & I didn't even mention the kicking off in both halves blunder...........um, yes I did.

Seek counseling. He's gone. Get over it.

Pease is being interviewed. Missed his flight yesterday because of the fog. He is obviously still interested....will interview this weekend.

Why spread lies? He's in Texas this week recruiting for UDUB. At least confirmed yesterday, today, tomorrow.

I don't think he necessarily applies for the jobs. I am told that he gets contacted, or makes contact, or there is just speculation from the particular school. He apparently likes where he is, and his family likes living there. He has turned down some things, and certainly the USC OC job. Maybe he is just looking for the right job.

Days of our Lives? You're a Drama Queen. I was stirring the pot when I said "No you didn't"...but I know for a fact that he's been in Texas recruiting for UW, as I posted yesterday.

The search for a new head coach for our beloved Grizzlies is very intriguing. And when one person makes a statement and another calls him a liar that's interesting to me because I hate the "I know something you don't know, but I can't tell you". I have no reason to doubt grizpony and unless you are indeed Brent Pease, you have no idea whether he talked to him or not, correct? And if you are not Brent Pease, which I would assume you're not, then why call someone a liar unless you yourself were trying to dramatize the situation even more?

That actually made me laugh! I wasn't trying to be an ass jc, just busting your chops. Though I actually did take you seriously. Guess I'm just too damn gullible! The only thing I know for certain is I will not be the next head coach! Everything else I just have to rely on what others say because after all......this is certainly good drama and I can't wait for the announcement of the next great Griz head coach! :thumb:

haha. I don't know the interest regarding Pease but I just knew that he was in Texas and meeting with recruits...I have a couple ties to UW and to a recruiting "analyst" that covers the southwest and Texas.
