I am glad to hear this. Jerry Glanville once stated when Jerry was the coach of the Houston Oilers during the NFL players strike that he gave the playbook to Brent and Brent learned it overnight and that if the strike would have continued through the end of season that he would have been the super bowl champion with Brent as his quarterback.

Brent is an excellent offensive mind, he is also very demanding and that doesn't sit well with some athletes. However IMO because of his many travels he probably has the best connections to coaches that would help make up an outstanding staff. He would probably desire to move on at some point in his career but that is OK with me. With that in mind I would like to think (and hope) Ty would remain here with him as a defensive coordinator with the idea that he may replace Brent in the future. To me that would be ideal.

I have the utmost respect for Kent and think he will make the right decision. Brent and Lubick (if he is interested and I don't know that he is) would be my primary choices if I had an input which I don't.

I'm sorry but personally I want a coach who knows the Bigsky, beats the cats, wins conference titles, and can at last make it to the semi's. Stitt seems like a great choice for OC, Tye is already a good DC, and Bobby brings back toughness to the team. I don't want the conversation of Stitt needing 2-3 years to get his people in place. Done that already. If Bobby is still in play and Haslem doesn't hire him IMO we made a mistake. With that said I hope Justin Green is standing on the sidelines with whoever is the head coach.

Good thing your opinion doesn't mean stitt.

Stitt is not going to be the OC at UM. He had an opportunity to be the OC at USC under Sark, and turned it down. He's in the mix every year for various FBS head coaching jobs, and probably is this year too (if you believe the internet).

I just cannot imagine a DII coach turning down an opportunity to be the OC at USC. I just don't get it. There has got to be something else. I'm sure the AD is turning these rock over...at least I hope so.

Whomever gets the job, I just hope they can figure out when to go for it on 4th down & when to punt, & I pray they have the balls to kick an onsides kick when that's what the situation calls for. Seriously, I hope the candidate brings a lot more to the table than that. But from the gaffs in the 1st game of the season (4th down calls), to the ball shrinkage in the last game, I have been salivating for Delaney's replacement, & I didn't even mention the kicking off in both halves blunder...........um, yes I did.

First the admission standards between where Stitt is at and where Joe Glenn was at in Colorado about as different as they are between Yale and UM-Western. SECONDLY, Haslam DID do that. He went to Baldwin, he went to Pease and he even went to Dickinson. Leipold came to us, and then an FBS school offered him and he took it. As garbage as Buffalo is, they're FBS, with an FBS budget and an FBS coaching salary. He wasn't going to choose UM over that. PERIOD. Haslam had a short list, and most of them respectfully passed. So he's moved on to the next short list, that includes Stitt, Ty and BH.

Wrong. Pease has NOT passed on this job. And he is better than Stitt in my opinion. Anyone else like Boise State's offense?

Be realistic... He makes $325 M a year at Washington. He wouldn't take a 50% pay cut to come coach here... he's been an AHC/OC at the FBS for several teams. Not coming here. BH is going to be the next head coach... either that or Ty. DUHHHHH

We will see. I know plenty of people that have taken huge pay cuts in exchange for opportunity and all of them have been highly rewarded. There are many things worth more than money and this salary package doesn't equate to a family having to starve.

No offense but your DUHHHHH might taste better with salt and pepper when, and if, you are proven wrong. None of us know with any certainty who will be the next head coach but IMO Bobby's train has left the station and if I am wrong I will be the first to say so.

Bobby Hauck, if he wants it. He has the experience record of success at the FCS level. Been to the FBS, so moving on should not be anticipated, long term tenure most likely. Griz pedigree, Montana native. Plenty of proven assistant coaches under his tenure. In Sundays Great Falls Tribune, Mansch interviewed Dave Dickenson who called Hauck the best coach this University ever had, and stated Hauck had the team in the right direction.(DD is not in the mix as he will be the next HC of the Stampeders in 2016.) DD has talked with Haslam about who should be considered as HC.

I for one would still like to see Bobby return. He wants this job, and has a proven track record of success.

If Haslam wants an "offensive minded" coach, let's pull the trigger on Pease. Pease was a finalist when we offered the job to Pflugrad. Many of you claim that he still has interest in our head coaching vacancy. If that is the case, give him the reigns at his alma mater, and let's see what he can do! We can retain Ty and Justin Green, and we are set!

This guy has been an offensive coordinator at both Boise St. and Baylor (2 of the most prolific offenses in recent history). I don't think Florida had the players to run his type of offense (so I will give him a pass there).

Plus, he is now coaching at UW. The majority of the top recruits that we currently have coming in hail from either Washington or Oregon. I think they would gravitate more towards Pease than let's say a Coach Stitt.

A "Montana Guy" - Check
An Offensive Minded Coach - Check
We could potentially retain Coach Ty and Coach Green - Check

If I was Haslam I would have had the new coach hired. Now I am not Haslam and a few think he is playing stall ball and might just end up with an obscure hire and make us all happy. If so I am happy. BUT after the stall job and we end up with one of the guys we have been chirping about I will wonder about Haslam and nega Royce.

Why spread lies? He's in Texas this week recruiting for UDUB. At least confirmed yesterday, today, tomorrow.

Just out of curiousity, how/why can/would you say that he didn't talk to Pease then? Seems like something you couldn't possibly know, or were you trying to be funny?
