When is it going to leak out or get announced that Vigen is departing?

Seems like it will be announced in the coming days, and Vigen will also keep coaching the Bobcats until they finish the season.

Oregon State’s football hiring committee worked late into Thursday night (last Thursday 11/20/25), whittling down the list of candidates for the job of head football coach.

Athletic Director Scott Barnes will conduct final interviews next week.

Two finalists?

That was the plan. But I’m told by a source involved with the hiring process that there was equal enthusiasm for three candidates. It caused a deadlock, hence the late evening, and a process that apparently produced three finalists.

Decide for yourself if this is a good thing, but it appears that a trio of candidates will advance to next week’s final round, where they’ll meet with Barnes.

Some new and interesting names have emerged in the process.

Vigen then flew out there yesterday as a finalist and perhaps the Frontrunner for the job.

This doesn't seem to be great reporting. Only source looks to be a tweet from @kalshiCFB...whatever that is.

It very well may be inevitable, but I'm not sure SI or @kalshiCFB is breaking the story.

Regardless, QB Club meeting will be interesting tonight.

Is the pay better at MSU too?
 
I think there is a good chance Vigen leaves after this season but it might not be Oregon State. It sounds like they have other candidates including some interest in the now available Chip Kelly who was very successful at Oregon.
