When is it going to leak out or get announced that Vigen is departing?

No Lamson is done after the season in college football. The current 6th years are the last class to get a 6th year due to 2020’s season being canceled. He will need to apply for medical exemption.
Love the confidence in your statement regarding Lamson. However, you are 100% incorrect.

Best would be word gets out he is leaving and then OSU pulls out.

I guess I'm lazy, I would be looking to retire or stay put at 50, not start a huge headache of a new job.

Dude, you finally got out of being the “Assistant” mail and delivering coffee guy. Don’t you think you want to see if you can climb the corporate ladder a little bit more before retiring? Pretty sure Vegan does

My wife just got a tip at the dog park here in Mesa AZ, from an NDSU fan, that there's indication that their coach may also be talking about leaving. This is way better way to get a good tip than getting info from the guy on the next bar stool.

All I got from this is your wife is still willing to go on a walk with you.

TBH, I think Cal's struggles are more a Cal thing than a Wilcox thing at the root.
Some definitely are, though it's in a better place now (very pro-football chancellor, football GM, and very strong NIL program). That all happened in only the last couple of years, which made some of us more willing to see what Wilcox did when so many barriers to success were removed. But he still struggled with consistency from his players. Penalties and mental errors all over the place. Wilcox was always good for grabbing one win you didn't expect (often in the non-con) along with dropping at least one and usually two you had no business losing (he gave several winless teams their first - and sometimes only - victory).

Maybe, but Cal has the same issue with other sports too.

Cal supports (last I checked) around 30 sports (and does well in most of them). I assume you're mostly speaking about men's basketball? No argument there. New chancellor has supported that as well, but football is definitely the focus right now (and athletic donations are at an all-time high - believe it was about 82 million last year).

So some "reporter" got the inside scoop and reported Vigen was close to deal with OSU?
When in fact he was really only interviewing and will probably not get the job??

I guess this example 987 of why it is just best to wait till the press conference announcing a new coach.
Too many people with "insider information" that are wrong.
