Da Griz said:Maybe instead of beating our heads against the wall with an on-line petition to deny Pat Williams a post on the Board of Regents, we could have an on-line petition in support of JJ's appeal to be reinstated to the football team.
Da Griz said:Yes we could do both, but at this point, I kind of like the idea of putting my energies towards something positive, like getting JJ back in a Griz uniform with #10 on it. Enough with the negative energy already!
you know they will..... :thumb:mtgrizrule said:Thanks to whoever took the time to do this. Start spreading this video on social media. I hope the Johnson's can get this too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=P-AW_y5wEeQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
like any other company they would have to negotiate the rights to Griz logo in order to produce and sell the #10 jersey. I think the legal beagles here can probably address how this is done. I think its an awesome idea, I would buy a dozen #10 jersey's from the Johnson Family Store for my buddies :thumb:sudavis said:I agree if anything is done to offset JJ's legal fees, one would have to be very careful. Some have suggested contribution to UM, but this does not help the Johnson family. Others have suggested shirts with a #10. I like this. What would happen if the Johnson family established a company to market and sell the shirts? Would this approach violate any NCAA rules?
It wouldn't need to have a Griz logo. If it was maroon, said "Montana" with the number 10 that would be enough for most people. My wife is in the athletic apparel business and says that in volume you could produce such a shirt for under 10 bucks each.NorthEndZoneDan said:like any other company they would have to negotiate the rights to Griz logo in order to produce and sell the #10 jersey. Yeah and ask USC, Reggie Bush, etc. etc. etc. Some of you just don't get it. You can't give him or his parents any help. Anything could/would be construed as a "gift." And if either the U of M or the NCAA caught wind of it would be death to the footbal program.
NCAA: "Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, how were you able to payoff all those legal fees?"
Johnson's: "We just used this large suitcase of cash that we found."
NCAA: " :shock: "
As unfortunate as this situation is, Jordan and his family are going to be under the "watchful" eye of U of M compliance and the NCAA.

IF they did the T-shirt thing, how is it a gift? You paid money and received value in return. Heck the IRS even says you can't write off a donation if you received something of value....it's not a donation. How can the NCAA legislate against entrepreneurship?
