Completely agree with the OP. I thought maybe there could be some good natured smack but this is out of control on both sides. Eagle fans started getting dirty early and Griz Fans kept feeding the dumb trolls until it got way out of hand. I in NO WAY CONDONE WHAT WAS SAID ABOUT SEVERAL POSTERS FAMILIES. The anger level felt real and I kept thinking I hope none of these people ever meet face to face or someone is going to get killed. Just step back from the edge everyone and take a deep breath. It is just football.

Haha! I though it was all good-natured the whole time except for two posts by UnderDog. Other'n that, it was pretty light-hearted.

You didn't help much in that regard with your "gangsta" insinuations which were very much over the line and border-line racist.

I don't condone any of the things that have been typed on here by EWU fans this week, but to suggest that it's just the EWU fans, or just the UM fans is pretty comical.

In the name of good sportmanship, let's knock this crap off and get ready for what should be a great game between two very talented teams.

Absolutely ridiculous people this week, even by Egriz standards. Sure this is a bulletin board and all, but personal attacks have gotten totally out of hand. Friendly smack is one thing but what has taken place on this board this week should be a black eye for everyone.

The most amazing thing is that Grizzly fans are considered among the best in the country. Go to a game in Missoula and its an experience you'll never forget. The reverse is becoming obvious on this bulletin board. We are among the worse fans in the country compared to countless other boards. When there is no opponent to take on, we attack each other.

First impressions are important, and egriz on many levels is just that. The average fan is not here, and strangely many people who act like idiots here are actually pretty cool in person. There can be, and should be a high road. There is no place for personal attacks, and talking about serious things like rape and murder in "joking" manner, especially after what we all saw in the last year.

Ownership and the mods need to step up, and take a bit more control because its embarrassing for all. The banter by Griz fans completely feeds into the Cat/Eagle fans...we truly are becoming envious of them it seems.

:clap: We don't visit this site nearly as often as we used to - since we don't post much, it doesn't make much difference except perhaps to Chris if his ad revenue is tied to website hit numbers.

So many threads head down the drain of personal attacks and vulgarity so quickly that it's just not fun to read them.

We're not prudes, and good-natured smack is fun - if I saw some sort of cartoon over at BN making hellacious fun of grizzly bears, I'd laugh. But, seems like the last few years have brought a sense to this board of "the nastier the better." So, we pass these days much more often than we used to. Hey, it's a free country -- post what you want, and we'll pass if we want. But we sometimes wish there was a board for those of us who prefer a different attitude.

Then it degenerated into a mixture of personal threats, more humor aimed to amuse a six year old child, and finally attacks and personal threats against the family members of various posters. Not to forget the thread was greatly extended by several entries posted by a certain individual posting under multiple personalities perpetuating a fake argument with himself.

In short, as Geddes posted, you missed nothing. It is the same crap that ruins half the threads on this board and runs off most of those who are actually interested in Griz football.

This board really has gotten out of control the past year. I remember when some posters would post good information here, with very little doubt, or back lash. Yet, many good posters here very seldom post relevant stuff anymore. That is because of some idiots on this board that question and doubt everything. Thanks to them, there are very few consistently good posters here anymore. Then if someone posts general information for others to try figuring out, then we have another set of idiots. Now I see why many posters post less now. It is not worth the backlash and drama.

I know I am DONE posting specifics rather it be pregame, post game information, or anything of some relevance to either football or basketball. EGRIZ used to be a great thing, and still can be. I have become less a poster and more of a reader here the past year. To those who are jerks and idiots, "Thanks for ruining what was once a good site".

The trash talking fans of EWU and MSU are the least of my concerns.

People can take the "freedom of speech" talk somewhere else. Egriz is a business and someone's property, you are not entitled to post anything you want on it and they have the right to edit or ban people out. They have the legal right to refuse service to anybody.

Please accept my sincere apologies. All I can do now is try to become a better poster before next week. I'll be running some extra stairs over the weekend. There is a secret offense (no, not the veer option) that I'm working on. I might roll it out soon.

I was a big part of it too, CDA and I were just baiting the EWU guys on the Shoota deal but things went south yesterday and it got ugly between a couple guys, didn't see that coming. That got way out of hand quickly.
