Vim's 2024 FINAL Montana High School Recruiting List

The following is based upon recruiting sites and newspaper articles. I have no idea on exact dollar amounts of aid offered—only know these players reported offers from both schools.

2022-23

UM
1. Clay Oven
2. Iverson Young

MSU
1. Ty McCullough (WR transfer CSU)
2. Lonyatta Alexander (WR transfer UW)
3. Tom Carter
4. Cedric Jefferson
5. Luke Smith
6. Cole Taylor
7. Adam Jones

2021-22

UM
1. Caden Huot
2. Zac Crews (now at MSU)

MSU
1. Ethan Abbott
2. Taco Dowler
3. Burke Mastel
4. Tommy Nilson

So, 11-4 (with 1 of the 4 now in Bozeman).

I noticed Junior Bergen isn't on there, he was a freshman in 21-22, and he picked us over Vigen & Co.

Danny Sirmon chose us, and he had offers from both.

I'm sure if we dug in, there are some more, but we will see what is to come in the next couple of years. I'd imagine this DUI situation isn't going to help with parents wanting to send their kids to MSU.

The list is limited to the previous 2 years of recruiting because those are the numbers you requested. Junior Bergen isn’t listed because he was a 2020-21 recruit. Danny Sirmon isn’t listed because he is a 2023-24 recruit. As to 2023-24, it presently sits at 2-1 for Vigen/Vegan/Sixx.

I’m not too worried as there’s more at play than just an offer and $.
Maybe a kid wants to play with his twin brother who wasn’t offered by the Griz. Maybe a kid wants to play linebacker and the Griz want him to play safety. Maybe a kids parents both went to Bozeman and there was never any real interest in playing for the Griz, other than being able to tweet “Blessed to receive my XTh D1 offer from UM”.. Maybe a kid is from the east side of the state and doesn’t want his family to have to travel 6 hours to watch a home game. Maybe a kid wants to study engineering or ag science so he can join the family business or take over the farm.
Recruiting is a crap shoot, some kids will become stars, some will get buried on the depth chart but stick it out, others will transfer in search of playing time.

Isaac Stoker is 6'3" and 255 pounds now. He is going to be a real beast this year for the Corvallis Blue Devils!

Odd that one of the stats’s leading rusher, Izayah Brown from Great Falls High isn’t on your list.

I update as I go during the fall season and I really don't update until more than half the season is over (so after middle of October). Izayah was a tackle last year and is now a top FB recruit. Hardnosed runner!

Vim were you ranking this kid? https://www.montanasports.com/category/high-school/football/q2-aow-shepherd-record-setter-aidan-lammers-big-o-linemen-paving-the-way

Is the WR from Billings Senior on your radar? Don’t think I saw him on page 1. Maybe I missed it. I think his name is Burkley #17. He can play and he’s big. And he can kick!
Saw him last night. 4 TDs in a row.

Time to take a look at some of these kids. I see that Isaac Stoker from Corvallis is on your list, but it looks like he deserves more recognition then he as been given.
