Vim's 2019 Montana High School Football Recruiting List

Paytonlives said:
Glacier is having an average year but Preston Blaine (5'10" 185)
has scored 4 rushing TD's tonight and has 19 on the year

4 more tonight so...
23 Rushing TD's in 10 games.

Glacier in the playoffs... will play Flathead in round one of the playoffs if Flathead wins on Friday night

The Class A All-State, All-Conference and Honorable Mention announcements have been made - published at montanasports.com. Congrats to all players and congrats to the predictors - several of the guys on your top recruits list were recognized for great seasons — including Garrett Brown All-State selection for Offensive Guard and First Team All-Conference for Defense. At about 280# he was a force this season. Also from Corvallis, and also on your list, was Liang Liedle, All-State selection for SS. There’s lots of talent and grit across the state, but I can’t help but cheer for these small-town guys and celebrate when they are recognized. Nice work!

Marcus Wehr committed to the Cats, based on the trajectory of their program and beating the Griz 3 years in a row.

Payton/Vim--What are your thoughts on Matthew Plasterer, Billings Senior's starting QB? I apologize if I've missed it elsewhere. I believe he's attended one (or more) of the MSU Camps. Wondering if he's being recruited by MSU/UM/both?

I watched the Senior at Helena game last Friday. Matt looks the part of a college QB. Tall and he is athletic. Throws a tight spiral and seemed to throw well on the run. His receivers are all 5' tall this year which made it hard. Seemed to have happy feet and didn't always get set. I'm not a great judge of talent, especially at the QB position, but he seems to have potential.

Will be interesting to see how his senior season comes together. His first two starts were against Glacier and Helena High so nothing like getting thrown to the fire early. He has sat behind QB after QB since he was a sophomore so plenty of mental reps in Murdoch's offense. Long-strider when he runs and definitely has "the look" of a future QB. It will just depend on how his senior season goes because there are about 5 other AA QBs who are lighting up scoreboards.
His stat line last night: 15/15 ( :o ) 374 yards and 5 tds

One of his receivers, Oran Nash-Bergen, finised with 7 catches for 238 yards and 3 tds (14, 81, and 53 yards).

Matt would love to stay in Montana and I can honestly say I would love to have him play closer to home , but that is just me being a mom 😉. He has had alot of interest from Minnesota..but we are a house divided and half want him in Missoula and half in Bozeman ..it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Make the right choice, Mom. Nobody wants to spend a weekend, let alone four years in Bozeman.

Me thinks someone is thinking FBS first.

And Minnesota is a nice place. Other than the malaria carrying tsetse flies in the spring and summer and the severe cold and flu season in the fall and winter. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about though . . . :|

In what world is that? I’m always outvoted 1-0. 8-)

Hey Vim, et.al., did I miss his name here or is the AA defensive player of the year missing from the list of the top players? & if he’s on the list - does he get a bump for the recognition?

He has an offer from MSU too

Saw Carson Rostad, QB out of Hamilton was MT Gatorade POTY. Very impressive stats and looks like he’s got great abilities. Are the Griz or Cats already after this kid for a QB?

Sorry to have to ask, but who might that be?

See post a few above. His stats are insane. Are the MT schools already after him? Any offers? I know he’s just a junior.

Made the most of his senior year. Reminds me a lot of Keaton Anderson in how he plays. Will definitely be high up in the Final Top 50. Remember, the preseason list is there to provide posters a view of what kids really improved during their senior years compared to their junior campaigns.
